佛說兜沙經一卷

後漢月氏三藏支婁迦讖譯

一切諸佛威神恩,諸過去、當來、今現在亦爾。

佛在摩竭提國時,法清凈處,其處號曰在所問清凈。

始作佛時,光景甚明。自然金剛蓮華,周匝甚大。自然師子座,諸佛過去時亦悉于上坐,儀法等無有異。

極相法中,出生極過度已。諸佛身體行,悉等具足,明無所復掛礙。

不可計佛處、不可計法處、不可計諸大十方人民處、不可計佛剎處,過去、當來、今現在佛等所出生也。

諸菩薩等各各從異國土來都大會,其數如十佛剎塵。一塵為一菩薩,如是為限。

諸菩薩賜一生補處,皆入十方人民典安隱、皆入法處、皆入十方諸剎土、皆入十方泥洹慧、皆入十方所作世間人宿命、皆入稍稍增深菩薩、皆入諸慧法中、皆入內外法中、皆入不動不搖法中、皆入過去當來今現在法中。

諸菩薩輩議如是:「佛愛我曹等輩。」

諸菩薩等所念:「示現我等諸佛剎,如佛所行居處阿。彼聞所有,現我等諸佛剎清凈、現我等如佛法清凈。

【English Translation】 English version The majestic and virtuous grace of all Buddhas, whether past, future, or present, is the same. When the Buddha was in the country of Magadha, he was in a place of pure Dharma, which was called 'Pure in the Place of Inquiry'. When the Buddha first attained Buddhahood, the light was extremely bright. A natural diamond lotus flower appeared, vast in circumference. A natural lion throne appeared, on which all past Buddhas had also sat, with no difference in rituals and practices. Having transcended all limits in the ultimate Dharma, the bodies and actions of all Buddhas are completely perfect, and their light is unobstructed. The immeasurable places where Buddhas reside, the immeasurable places where the Dharma resides, the immeasurable places where people of the ten directions reside, and the immeasurable places where Buddha-lands reside, are all places where past, future, and present Buddhas are born. Various Bodhisattvas came to the assembly from different lands, their number like the dust of ten Buddha-lands. One dust particle represents one Bodhisattva, and this is the limit. The Bodhisattvas, who are granted the status of 'one birth away from Buddhahood' (Ekajāti-pratibaddha), all enter the peace of the people of the ten directions, all enter the place of Dharma, all enter the Buddha-lands of the ten directions, all enter the wisdom of Nirvana of the ten directions, all enter the past lives of the people of the ten directions, all enter the gradually deepening Bodhisattva path, all enter the wisdom of all Dharmas, all enter the inner and outer Dharmas, all enter the unmoving and unshakable Dharma, and all enter the past, future, and present Dharmas. The Bodhisattvas discussed among themselves: 'The Buddha loves us, his companions.' The Bodhisattvas thought: 'Show us the Buddha-lands, just like the places where the Buddha walks and resides. Let them hear everything, show us the purity of the Buddha-lands, show us the purity like the Buddha's Dharma.' 'All the Dharma spoken by the Buddha'


使我曹見矣;現我等佛剎成敗時,使我曹悉見矣。現我曹等諸佛起出時、現我等佛剎所有善惡,佛所有悉示我。

「示現我曹十方諸有剎土、現我等諸不可計佛所說、現我等菩薩十法住、現我等菩薩十法所行、現我等菩薩十法悔過經、現我等菩薩十道地、現我菩薩十鎮、現我等菩薩十居處所愿、現我菩薩十黠、現我菩薩十三昧、現我菩薩十飛法、現我菩薩十印、現我菩薩悉飛來時、現我佛名無有盡。

「現我佛所止處、現我佛諸法所部界、現我佛威神、現我佛所行、現我佛筋力。

「現我佛四事不護、現我佛三昧所入處、現我佛所變化在所為。

「現我佛無有過勝者、現我佛所有尊號,無有能及逮者。

When our Buddhas arise, let us see all the good and evil in our Buddha-lands, and let everything the Buddha possesses be shown to us.' 'Show us all the lands in the ten directions, show us the teachings of the countless Buddhas, show us the ten abidings of our Bodhisattvas, show us the ten practices of our Bodhisattvas, show us the ten repentances of our Bodhisattvas, show us the ten stages of our Bodhisattvas, show us the ten subjugations of our Bodhisattvas, show us the ten dwelling wishes of our Bodhisattvas, show us the ten wisdoms of our Bodhisattvas, show us the ten samadhis of our Bodhisattvas, show us the ten flying methods of our Bodhisattvas, show us the ten seals of our Bodhisattvas, show us when all our Bodhisattvas come flying, show us that the names of our Buddhas are endless.' Manjushri Bodhisattva came from that Buddha-land, together with many Bodhisattvas—their number like the dust of the lands in the ten directions—they all came before the Buddha to pay homage, and each sat in their own place.

Buddhasri Bodhisattva (Bodhisattva of Buddha's Glory) came from that land, together with many Bodhisattvas—their number like the dust of ten Buddha-lands—all came before the Buddha to pay homage, each sitting in the natural lion-seat crossroad tents. In the extremely distant and immeasurable Buddha-lands to the west, there is a Buddha named Astadatta (given by the eight), whose land is called Padmavana (lotus forest). 「何因耶?是蔡呵祇剎土四面種種人——各各異身體、各各異名、各各異色、各各有長短、各各有壽命、各各有形類、各各有思想、各各有念、各各異有聲——各各有聞佛聲。

「何因是國土名波迦私提?四面中有呼佛名曰勝達、中有呼世世慢陀、中有呼夷阿那坭提、中有呼釋迦文尼、中有呼鼓師薩沈、

Bodhisattva Wenshushili, relying on the Buddha's majestic power, surveyed all the Bodhisattvas, and then raised his voice of wisdom: 'How joyful it is that all you Bodhisattvas have gathered! Immeasurable Buddha-lands—the places where the Buddhas reside, the places where they are; what is embraced by the Buddha's Dharma—the Buddha's teachings, the majestic power of the Buddha-lands, the Buddha's actions, the Buddha's strength, the good and evil of the Buddha-lands, immeasurable Buddha-Dharma.' 'What is the reason? The paths spoken in the Buddha-lands of the ten directions, the beings liberated in the ten directions, all Dharmas are profound and limitless, like the void, without any hindrance.' 'What is the reason? In this Buddha-land of Caiheqi, there are various kinds of people in all directions—each with different bodies, each with different names, each with different colors, each with different lengths, each with different lifespans, each with different forms, each with different thoughts, each with different ideas, each with different sounds—each can hear the Buddha's voice.' 'What is the reason this land is called Bojiasti? In all directions, some call the Buddha Shengda, some call him Shishimantu, some call him Yiananiti, some call him Shijiamuni, some call him Gushisachen.'


中有呼墮樓延、中有呼俱䜖滑提、中有呼摩呵沙門、中有呼晨那愁樓提、中有呼質多愁樓提等。為四面如是輩,各各呼釋迦文佛名,合為萬字。

「如是十方極過去不可復計諸佛剎——都人民種種各異語——共呼釋迦文佛名、佛字。一一佛剎,凡各十億萬字。

「釋迦文佛從本未造學道已來,諸所教授弟子等輩時人如是。」

佛放光明。先從足下出,照一佛界中極明,現十億閻浮利天南、十億大海、十億須彌山、十億遮加和山、十億弗于逮天東、十億俱耶匿天西、十億郁單曰天北、十億照頭摩羅天、十億忉利天、十億鹽天、十億兜術天、十億泥摩羅提羅鄰優天、十億波羅蜜和耶拔致天、十億梵天、十億梵迦夷天、十億梵弗還天、十億梵迦產天、十億摩訶梵天、十億廅天、十億波梨陀天、十億廅波摩那天、十億阿會亙羞天、十億波栗羞訶天、十億阿波摩羞天、十億羞訖天、十億權呵天、十億波栗推呵天、十億阿波墮訶天、十億惟于潘天、十億阿惟潘天、十億阿陀波天、十億須𨅐(音武)天、十億呵迦膩吒天、十億阿惟先惟先尼𦱕。

如是等,各各照見諸天上人所止處。敢是佛界中,悉皆照明,釋迦文佛都所典主。

十方國一一方,各有一億小國土,皆有一大海、一須彌山;上至三十三天

在中有(指人死後到投胎之間的過渡期)時,有的呼喚『墮樓延』,有的呼喚『俱䜖滑提』,有的呼喚『摩呵沙門』,有的呼喚『晨那愁樓提』,有的呼喚『質多愁樓提』等等。四面八方都有這樣的人,各自呼喚釋迦文佛(Sakyamuni Buddha)的名號,合起來有萬字之多。

『像這樣,十方極其遙遠、無法計算的諸佛剎土——所有人民說著各種不同的語言——共同呼喚釋迦文佛的名號、佛的尊號。每一個佛剎土,都有十億萬字之多。

『釋迦文佛從最初開始修行佛道以來,所教導的弟子們,當時的人們就是這樣稱呼他的。』

佛陀放出光明。先從腳下發出,照亮一個佛界中最為明亮的地方,顯現出十億閻浮利天(Jambudvipa)的南方、十億大海、十億須彌山(Sumeru)、十億遮加和山、十億弗于逮天(Purvavideha)的東方、十億俱耶匿天(Aparagodaniya)的西方、十億郁單曰天(Uttarakuru)的北方、十億照頭摩羅天、十億忉利天(Trayastrimsa)、十億鹽天、十億兜術天(Tusita)、十億泥摩羅提羅鄰優天、十億波羅蜜和耶拔致天、十億梵天(Brahma)、十億梵迦夷天、十億梵弗還天、十億梵迦產天、十億摩訶梵天、十億廅天、十億波梨陀天、十億廅波摩那天、十億阿會亙羞天、十億波栗羞訶天、十億阿波摩羞天、十億羞訖天、十億權呵天、十億波栗推呵天、十億阿波墮訶天、十億惟于潘天、十億阿惟潘天、十億阿陀波天、十億須𨅐天、十億呵迦膩吒天、十億阿惟先惟先尼𦱕。

像這樣等等,各自照見諸天上人所居住的地方。凡是這個佛界中的一切,都被光明照亮,都是釋迦文佛所掌管的。

十方國土的每一方,各有一億個小國土,都有一個大海、一座須彌山;向上直到三十三天(Trayastrimsa)。

【English Translation】 English version:

In the intermediate state (bardo), some call out 『Daluoyan』, some call out 『Juhuatidi』, some call out 『Mohesamen』, some call out 『Chennachoulouti』, some call out 『Zhidachoulouti』, and so on. From all directions, there are such beings, each calling out the name of Sakyamuni Buddha, amounting to ten thousand words.

『Like this, in the immeasurably distant and countless Buddha lands of the ten directions—all the people speaking various different languages—together call out the name of Sakyamuni Buddha, the Buddha's title. In each Buddha land, there are ten billion words.

『Since Sakyamuni Buddha first began practicing the path, the disciples he has taught, the people of that time, called him in this way.』

The Buddha emitted light. First, it came from under his feet, illuminating the brightest place in a Buddha realm, manifesting ten billion Jambudvipa (Southern Continent) to the south, ten billion great oceans, ten billion Mount Sumeru, ten billion Chejiahe mountains, ten billion Purvavideha (Eastern Continent) to the east, ten billion Aparagodaniya (Western Continent) to the west, ten billion Uttarakuru (Northern Continent) to the north, ten billion Zhaotoumolo heavens, ten billion Trayastrimsa heavens, ten billion Salt heavens, ten billion Tusita heavens, ten billion Nimaluotiluolin You heavens, ten billion Balamiheye Bazhi heavens, ten billion Brahma heavens, ten billion Brahma Kayika heavens, ten billion Brahma Purohita heavens, ten billion Brahma Parisadya heavens, ten billion Maha Brahma heavens, ten billion Abha heavens, ten billion Parittabha heavens, ten billion Apramanabha heavens, ten billion Abhasvara heavens, ten billion Parittasubha heavens, ten billion Apramanasubha heavens, ten billion Subhakrtsna heavens, ten billion Anabhraka heavens, ten billion Punyaprasava heavens, ten billion Anabhraka heavens, ten billion Vehapphala heavens, ten billion Avihas heavens, ten billion Atappas heavens, ten billion Sudarsana heavens, ten billion Akanistha heavens, ten billion Avicivicini.

Like these, each illuminates the places where the heavenly beings dwell. Everything within this Buddha realm is illuminated by the light, and all is under the dominion of Sakyamuni Buddha.

In each of the ten directions, there are one hundred million small lands, each with a great ocean and a Mount Sumeru; extending upwards to the Trayastrimsa heavens.

凡有十億小國土,合為一佛剎,名為蔡呵祇。

佛分身悉遍至十億小國土。一一小國土皆有一佛,凡有十億佛,皆與諸菩薩,共坐十億小國土。

諸天人民皆悉見佛,諸菩薩、諸天人民皆持佛威神,相視如迎,相見文殊師利菩薩。

復有文殊師利菩薩、 羅鄰師利菩薩、 檀那師利菩薩、 群那師利菩薩、 佛陀師利菩薩、 涅羅師利菩薩、 惟阇師利菩薩、 𢜪那師利菩薩、 軷陀師利菩薩、 曇摩師利菩薩。

如是等菩薩其所止佛剎,剎極快好,其剎皆各各自有名: 阿栴墮還佛、 阿泥羅墮還佛、 阿阇陀墮還佛、 阿樓那墮還佛、 阿栴陀墮還佛、 鬱沈墮還佛、 伊豆羅墮還佛、 梵摩墮還佛、 惟夷羅還佛。

Whenever there are ten billion small countries, they combine to form one Buddha-kṣetra (Buddha-field), named Cāha-gī. The Buddha's emanations completely pervade the ten billion small countries. Each small country has one Buddha, totaling ten billion Buddhas, all of whom sit together with the Bodhisattvas in the ten billion small countries. All the gods and people can see the Buddhas, and the Bodhisattvas, gods, and people all hold the Buddha's majestic power, looking at each other as if welcoming, and seeing Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva. There are also Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva, Rāṇiśrī Bodhisattva, Dānaśrī Bodhisattva, Guṇaśrī Bodhisattva, Buddhaśrī Bodhisattva, Nīraśrī Bodhisattva, Vaiśākhyaśrī Bodhisattva, Kṣaṇaśrī Bodhisattva, Bhadraśrī Bodhisattva, and Dharmaśrī Bodhisattva. The Buddha-kṣetras where these Bodhisattvas reside are extremely beautiful, and each of these kṣetras has its own name: Ajaṇḍa-hāri Buddha, Anila-hāri Buddha, Ajāta-hāri Buddha, Aruṇa-hāri Buddha, Ajaṇḍa-hāri Buddha, Utpanna-hāri Buddha, Indra-hāri Buddha, Brahma-hāri Buddha, and Vīra-hāri Buddha. The Buddha speaks the Tuṣa Sūtra.
