佛說大乘方等要慧經

後漢安息國三藏安世高譯

聞如是：

一時佛游于舍衛國，爾時彌勒菩薩叉手白佛言：

「世尊！我欲小有所問，若世尊聽所問者乃敢陳之。」

佛言：「若有所疑便問，吾當為汝解說，使意歡喜。」

彌勒問言：「云何菩薩摩訶薩不退轉法，于大乘有進而不耗減，行菩薩道並降伏魔怨，如其狀貌，悉還教知諸法根之相，不厭于生死，自有正慧不從他受，疾成無上一切智地？」

世尊贊曰：「善哉！善哉！所問隨順，甚善大佳，吾當為汝解說菩薩所得之行，逾于所問。諦聽！善思念之！」於是彌勒受教，一心靜聽。

佛告彌勒：「菩薩有八法具足，疾逮得無上一切智地。何謂為八？一者、內性清凈。二者、所行成就。三者、所施成就。四者、所愿成就。五者、慈成就。六者、悲成就。七者、善權成就。八者、智慧成就。是為八事。菩薩疾逮得無上一切智。」

彌勒菩薩及諸眾會皆歡喜。

大乘方等要慧經

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本 如是我聞： 一時，佛陀在舍衛國游化。當時，彌勒菩薩（Maitreya Bodhisattva）合掌向佛陀稟告： 『世尊！我有些許疑問想要請教，如果世尊允許我提問，我才敢陳述。』 佛陀說：『如果有任何疑惑就問吧，我將為你解說，使你心生歡喜。』 彌勒菩薩問道：『如何才能使菩薩摩訶薩（Bodhisattva-Mahasattva）不退轉于佛法，在大乘（Mahayana）修行中精進而不退減，在菩薩道上修行並降伏魔怨，如實瞭解諸法根源的實相，不厭倦于生死輪迴，擁有自己的正見智慧而不依賴他人，迅速成就無上一切智地（Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi）？』 世尊讚歎道：『善哉！善哉！你所問的非常契合佛法，甚好！我將為你解說菩薩所應修行的法門，遠勝於你所問的。仔細聽！好好思考！』於是彌勒菩薩接受教誨，一心靜聽。 佛陀告訴彌勒菩薩：『菩薩有八法具足，就能迅速證得無上一切智地。這八法是什麼呢？一是、內性清凈。二是、所行成就。三是、所施成就。四是、所愿成就。五是、慈成就。六是、悲成就。七是、善巧方便成就。八是、智慧成就。這便是八件事。菩薩能迅速證得無上一切智。』 彌勒菩薩及在場的所有聽眾都非常歡喜。 《大乘方等要慧經》

【English Translation】 English version Thus have I heard: At one time, the Buddha was traveling in Shravasti. At that time, Maitreya Bodhisattva, with his palms together, said to the Buddha: 'World Honored One! I have a few questions I would like to ask. If the World Honored One permits me to ask, then I dare to present them.' The Buddha said, 'If you have any doubts, then ask. I will explain them for you, so that your mind will be joyful.' Maitreya asked, 'How can a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva not regress in the Dharma, advance without diminishing in the practice of the Mahayana, cultivate the Bodhisattva path and subdue demonic hindrances, truly understand the real nature of the roots of all dharmas, not be weary of birth and death, possess their own right wisdom without relying on others, and quickly attain the unsurpassed state of complete enlightenment (Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi)?' The World Honored One praised, 'Excellent! Excellent! Your question is very much in accordance with the Dharma, very good! I will explain to you the practices that a Bodhisattva should cultivate, which are far superior to what you have asked. Listen carefully! Think well!' Thereupon, Maitreya Bodhisattva received the teaching and listened attentively with a focused mind. The Buddha told Maitreya, 'A Bodhisattva who possesses eight qualities will quickly attain the unsurpassed state of complete enlightenment. What are these eight? First, inner nature is pure. Second, actions are accomplished. Third, giving is accomplished. Fourth, vows are accomplished. Fifth, loving-kindness is accomplished. Sixth, compassion is accomplished. Seventh, skillful means are accomplished. Eighth, wisdom is accomplished. These are the eight things. A Bodhisattva can quickly attain the unsurpassed state of complete enlightenment.'
