如是我聞:
一時佛在瞻波大城伽伽靈池,與大比丘眾五百人俱。
爾時,世尊告諸比丘:「今當爲汝演說,西方安樂世界今現有佛,號阿彌陀,若有四眾,能正受持彼佛名號,以此功德臨欲終時,阿彌陀即與大眾往此人所,令其得見。見已,尋生慶悅,倍增功德。以是因緣,所生之處,永離胞胎穢欲之形,純處鮮妙寶蓮花中,自然化生,具大神通,光明赫弈。
「爾時,十方恒沙諸佛,皆共贊彼安樂世界:『所有佛法不可思議;神通現化,種種方便不可思議;若有能信如是之事,當知是人不可思議;所得業報亦不可思議。』
「阿彌陀佛與聲聞俱,如來、應、正遍知,其國號曰清泰。聖王所住,其城縱廣十千由旬,于中充滿剎利之種。阿彌陀佛如來、應、正遍知,父名月上,轉輪聖王;其母名曰殊勝妙顏;子名月明。奉事弟子,名無垢稱。智慧弟子,名曰賢光。神足精勤,名曰大化。爾時,魔王名曰無勝。有提婆達多,名曰寂靜。阿彌陀佛與大比丘六萬人俱。
「若有受持彼佛名號,堅固其心、憶念不忘,十日十夜除

【English Translation】 English version Thus have I heard: At one time, the Buddha was dwelling in the great city of Champā, by the Gagā-linga pond, together with five hundred great Bhikshus. At that time, the World Honored One told the Bhikshus: 『Now I will explain to you, in the Western Land of Bliss, there is a Buddha named Amitābha. If the four assemblies (Bhikshus, Bhikshunis, Upasakas, Upasikas) can correctly uphold the name of that Buddha, by this merit, when approaching the end of life, Amitābha Buddha will come with the assembly to the place of this person, allowing them to see him. Upon seeing him, this person will immediately feel joy, and their merit will increase many times over. Because of this cause, the place where this person is born will forever be free from the defilement and desires of the womb, purely residing in a beautiful and wondrous jeweled lotus flower, naturally born, possessing great supernatural powers, and radiant with light.』 『At that time, the Buddhas of the ten directions, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, will all together praise that Land of Bliss: 『The Dharma there is inconceivable; the manifestation of supernatural powers and various skillful means are inconceivable; if there is someone who can believe in such things, it should be known that this person is also inconceivable; the karmic retribution they receive is also inconceivable.』 『Amitābha Buddha is with his Shravaka disciples, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha, his country is named Pure Peace. The city where the holy king resides is ten thousand yojanas in length and breadth, filled with people of the Kshatriya caste. Amitābha Buddha, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha, his father is named Moon Above, a Chakravartin king; his mother is named Wondrous Beautiful Face; his son is named Moon Bright. The disciple who serves him is named Immaculate Fame. The disciple of wisdom is named Virtuous Light. The disciple diligent in supernatural powers is named Great Transformation. At that time, the demon king is named Unsurpassed. There is Devadatta, named Tranquility. Amitābha Buddha is with sixty thousand great Bhikshus.』 『If someone upholds the name of that Buddha, firmly establishing their mind, remembering and not forgetting, for ten days and ten nights without interruption, except for sleep and food, diligently reciting at all other times, this person will be able to eliminate the sins committed in past lives and will obtain immeasurable and boundless blessings.』
舍散亂,精勤修集唸佛三昧,知彼如來常恒住于安樂世界,憶念相續勿令斷絕,受持讀誦此鼓音聲王大陀羅尼,十日十夜,六時專念,五體投地,禮敬彼佛,堅固正念悉除散亂;若能令心念念不絕,十日之中必得見彼阿彌陀佛,並見十方世界如來及所住處。唯除重障鈍根之人,於今少時所不能睹。一切諸善皆悉迴向,愿得往生安樂世界,垂終之日,阿彌陀佛與諸大眾,現其人前安慰稱善,是人即時甚生慶悅。以是因緣,如其所愿,尋得往生。」
佛告諸比丘:「何等名為鼓音聲王大陀羅尼?吾今當說,汝等善聽。」
「唯然受教。」
於時世尊即說咒曰:
「多狄他(一) 婆離(二) 阿婆離(三) 娑摩婆羅(四) 尼地奢(五) 昵阇多禰(六) 昵茂邸(七) 昵茂企(八) 阇羅婆羅車馱禰(九) 宿佉波啼呢地奢(十) 阿彌多由婆離(十一) 阿彌多蛇伽婆昵呵隸(十二) 阿彌多蛇波羅娑陀禰(十三) 涅浮提(十四) 阿迦舍昵浮陀(十五) 阿迦舍昵提奢(十六) 阿迦舍昵阇啼(十七) 阿迦舍久舍離(十八) 阿迦舍達奢尼(十九) 阿迦舍提咃禰(二十) 留波昵提奢(二十一) 嚕跛坦泥勢(二十二) 遮埵唎達摩波羅娑阿禰(二十三) 遮唾唎阿利蛇娑帝蛇

【English Translation】 English version Abandoning scattered thoughts, diligently cultivate the Samadhi (meditative absorption) of Buddha Recitation, knowing that the Tathagata (Buddha), Amitabha (Infinite Light Buddha), constantly dwells in the Land of Bliss (Pure Land), remember him continuously without interruption. Receive, uphold, read, and recite this Great Dharani (a type of Buddhist mantra) of the King of Drum Sound, for ten days and ten nights, with focused mindfulness during the six periods of the day, prostrating with the five limbs touching the ground, and reverently paying homage to that Buddha, firmly establishing right mindfulness and completely eliminating scattered thoughts. If one can keep the mind continuously focused, within ten days, one will surely see that Amitabha Buddha, and also see the Tathagatas of the ten directions (all directions) and their dwelling places. Only those with heavy karmic obstacles and dull faculties will not be able to see them in a short time. Dedicate all merits towards the aspiration to be reborn in the Land of Bliss. At the time of death, Amitabha Buddha, together with the great assembly of Bodhisattvas, will appear before that person, comforting them and praising their goodness, and that person will then be filled with great joy. Because of this cause and condition, one will, as wished, quickly be reborn in the Land of Bliss. The Buddha said to the Bhikkhus (monks): 'What is called the Great Dharani of the King of Drum Sound? I will now explain it, listen carefully.' 'Yes, we will receive your teachings.' Then, the World Honored One (Buddha) spoke the mantra: 'Tadyatha (1), Bhare (2), Abhare (3), Samabhara (4), Nidhishe (5), Nijatane (6), Nimudhe (7), Nimukhe (8), Jala Bharachedane (9), Sukha Patinidhishe (10), Amitayubhare (11), Amitayusagabhavanihare (12), Amitayusaparasadhane (13), Nirbhude (14), Akasha Nirbhuda (15), Akasha Nidhishe (16), Akasha Nijati (17), Akasha Kushali (18), Akasha Darshani (19), Akasha Dhitane (20), Rupa Nidhishe (21), Rupa Tanideshe (22), Chaturdharma Parasadhane (23), Chaturari Satyesha'

「此是阿彌陀鼓音聲王大陀羅尼。若有比丘、比丘尼、清信士女,常應至誠受持讀誦,如說修行,行此持法。當處閑寂,洗浴其身,著新凈衣,飲食白素,不啖酒肉及以五辛,常修梵行。以好香花,供養阿彌陀如來,及佛道場大菩薩眾。常應如是專心繫念,發願求生安樂世界,
精勤不怠如其所愿,必得往生於彼佛世界。
「時,阿彌陀佛與諸大眾坐寶蓮花,其土叢林花果鮮敷,間錯嚴飾;復有樹王、香風、馥扇出和雅音,純說無上不思議法;復有妙香名曰光明,若干涂香亦是寶香。
「阿彌陀佛于大寶花結加趺坐。有二菩薩:一名觀世音,二名大勢至,是二菩薩侍立左右,無數菩薩周匝圍繞。於此眾中,若能深信無狐疑者,必得往生阿彌陀國。其地真金,七寶蓮花自然踴出。
「若有四眾,受持讀誦彼佛名號,乃至無有水、火、毒藥、刀杖之怖;亦復無有夜叉等怖,除有過、去重罪、業障,極至七生必果所愿。」
佛說是阿彌陀鼓音聲王陀羅尼時,無量眾生皆悉發願,志求生彼極樂世界。於時世尊贊言:「善哉,善哉!如汝所愿,必得生彼。」
聞佛說已,天龍八部,歡喜踴躍,作禮奉行。

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本 如果精進勤勉不懈怠,如其所愿,必定能夠往生到阿彌陀佛(Amitābha)的世界。
當時,阿彌陀佛與眾多菩薩坐在寶蓮花上,他的國土叢林花果鮮艷盛開,交錯裝飾得非常莊嚴;還有樹王、香風、散發著芬芳的扇子,發出和諧優雅的聲音,純粹地宣說無上不可思議的佛法;還有一種奇妙的香,名叫光明,各種涂香也都是珍貴的香。
阿彌陀佛坐在巨大的寶蓮花上,結跏趺坐。有兩位菩薩:一位名叫觀世音(Avalokiteśvara),另一位名叫大勢至(Mahāsthāmaprāpta),這兩位菩薩侍立在阿彌陀佛的左右,無數菩薩圍繞在周圍。在這大眾之中,如果能夠深信不疑,必定能夠往生到阿彌陀佛的國土。那裡的土地是純金的,七寶蓮花自然涌現出來。
如果有四眾弟子,受持讀誦阿彌陀佛的名號,乃至不會有水、火、毒藥、刀杖的恐懼;也不會有夜叉等鬼神的恐懼,除非有過去世的嚴重罪業和業障,最遲七世必定能夠實現所愿。
佛陀在宣說《阿彌陀鼓音聲王陀羅尼經》時,無數眾生都發愿,立志求生到那個極樂世界。當時,世尊讚歎說:『好啊,好啊!如你們所愿,必定能夠往生到那裡。』
聽聞佛陀的教誨后,天龍八部,歡喜踴躍,行禮並遵奉佛陀的教導。

【English Translation】 English version If one is diligent and unremitting, as they wish, they will surely be reborn in the Buddha-land of Amitābha.
At that time, Amitābha Buddha and the great assembly were seated on jeweled lotus flowers. In his land, the forests and flowers were blooming vibrantly, adorned with intricate decorations. There were also tree kings, fragrant winds, and fragrant fans emitting harmonious and elegant sounds, purely expounding the unsurpassed and inconceivable Dharma. There was also a wondrous fragrance called 'Light,' and various perfumes were also precious fragrances.
Amitābha Buddha sat in full lotus posture on a great jeweled lotus flower. There were two Bodhisattvas: one named Avalokiteśvara, and the other named Mahāsthāmaprāpta. These two Bodhisattvas stood on the left and right of Amitābha Buddha, surrounded by countless Bodhisattvas. Among this assembly, if one can deeply believe without doubt, they will surely be reborn in the land of Amitābha. The ground there is pure gold, and seven-jeweled lotus flowers naturally spring forth.
If there are the four assemblies of disciples who receive, uphold, recite, and chant the name of that Buddha, they will not have fear of water, fire, poison, or weapons; nor will they have fear of yakshas or other spirits, except for past heavy sins and karmic obstacles. At most, within seven lifetimes, their wishes will surely be fulfilled.
When the Buddha was expounding the 'Amitābha Drum Sound King Dhāraṇī Sūtra,' countless beings all made vows, aspiring to be reborn in that Land of Ultimate Bliss. At that time, the World Honored One praised them, saying, 'Excellent, excellent! As you wish, you will surely be reborn there.'
Having heard the Buddha's teachings, the eight classes of gods and dragons rejoiced and leaped for joy, bowed, and followed the Buddha's teachings.
