【English Translation】 English version Verses on the Scripture of the Great Power Divine King, the Vajra-wielding Spirit

Composed by the Shramana Zhichang, Abbot of Longhua Temple in the Ancient Bian (Kaifeng)

It is heard that Gautama (瞿曇, Shakyamuni Buddha's clan name) expounded the Dharma, universally benefiting all sentient beings. Throughout the ages, various masters have divided the scriptures into three parts: the introduction, the main body, and the conclusion. The scripture 'The Uṣṇīṣa-cakravartin's Dhāraṇī of Great Power and Complete Fulfillment of Spiritual Penetrations' was translated by the Tripiṭaka master Wu Nengsheng from North India, together with the Tripiṭaka master Azhida Xian. These two scriptures are in the same volume, lacking the concluding section. It has already been included in the first volume of the Great Treasury Scripture, in the 'I' section. Therefore, the Tathagata (如來) manifested the Uṣṇīṣa-cakravartin (穢跡明王) from his left side on the Nirvana platform, with three heads and eight arms, subduing Śikhi-brahman (螺髻梵王, a type of Brahma). He spoke the mantra, drew the four great treasure seals, wrote the talismans, the forty-two knots, and the five-finger mudras, universally benefiting sentient beings. Throughout the ages, there have been many monks and laypeople who have upheld the mantra and practiced this Dharma. However, they have not fully understood, believed, and practiced the translations of the previous two masters. Later, the monk Zhibin of the Song Dynasty re-examined and organized this scripture, supplementing the concluding section, and titled it 'The Dhāraṇī Scripture of the Buddha Entering Nirvana, Manifesting as the Divine King, the Light of the Crown Transforming into a Buddha, Speaking of the Great, Vast, Complete, Perfect, All-Knowing, Spiritual Penetration Power'. Now, this scripture speaks of the Great Power Divine King subduing Śikhi-brahman. Furthermore, at the request of the Brahma King residing in the world, he transformed and manifested a wrathful form with three heads and eight arms, holding weapons and implements no different from before. The original king remained in stillness. Then, the transformed king drew the image of the three heads and eight arms, with the transformed Buddha on the crown, drew the four great treasure seal writings, the forty-two spiritual talisman finger knots, and entrusted all five mudras to Śikhi-brahman to uphold and practice. At that time, the transformed Buddha touched Śikhi-brahman's head and bestowed a prophecy, naming him the Pure Light Tathagata. After that, this transformed king disappeared back into the original king's body. The original king's purple-gold light gathered and disappeared into the golden coffin. 【English Translation】 English version The sutra does not repeat what has been said before. The original mantra was missing nine characters, which are now added to complete the sentences. Now, Great Master Guangfu (Guangfu Dashi, Dharma name), the Registrar and Administrator Ba (Senglu Guanzhu Ba, title and name), wholeheartedly takes refuge in the Three Jewels (Sanbao, Buddha, Dharma, Sangha), and focuses on studying the Buddhist scriptures, compiling these contents into verses to supplement and circulate them. This sutra is also called the 'Miji Lishi Daquan Shenwang Jing' (Sutra of the Secret Traces Mighty Power Divine King). After it is widely spread, if there are those who uphold the mantra and practice, and can understand the meaning of the sutra from beginning to end, and practice in detail, then they can benefit themselves and others, and their blessings will be infinite. Accumulating these merits, to repay the Buddha's kindness (Fo En, the Buddha's grace). Wishing the Saints (Shengren, sages) longevity. Without interruption, if one does not seek the ultimate truth. When the light and the four elements (Sida, earth, water, fire, wind) separate, when will one encounter the Dharma again? Now encountering the Great Awakened One (Dajue Zun, the Buddha), widely opening the door of skillful means. Engraving and printing Buddhist scriptures for wide distribution, but the circulated scriptures are not complete. Before hesitating, eight parts have been supplemented in all directions. This is all due to the blessing of the Perfectly Enlightened One (Zheng Bianzhi, the Buddha's wisdom), the compassionate power of the Awakened Emperor (Jue Huang, the Buddha). Even if one understands the principle of emptiness (Zhenkong, emptiness), the myriad practices (Wanxing, various practices) have not been completed. What the Buddhas of the three times (Sanshi, past, present, future) say, the one great event of the Tathagata (Rulai, title of the Buddha). All arise from sentient beings, and sentient beings have no greed or anger. Why do the Buddhas preach the Dharma? To skillfully transform them. From birth to Nirvana (Nipan, extinction), in the golden coffin and silver casket. Gods, humans, and the four assemblies (Tianren Sizhong, gods, humans, and four kinds of believers) weep, the evil spirit king with snail-shell hair (Luoji E Shenwang, name of an evil spirit). Cooking and slaughtering to establish a country, sentient beings are eaten by him. My Buddha appears again in the world, transforming into the blue-black eight-armed king (Qinghei Ba Bi Wang, transformation of the Buddha). Holding eight weapons to kill the demons, and the demon submits and relies on him. Sentient beings are spared from disaster, the Bodhisattva (Dengjue, the stage of a Bodhisattva) has supreme compassion. Granting the demon a prophecy (Shouji, prediction of becoming a Buddha), as well as his ministers and relatives. Let them be pure for countless kalpas.

【English Translation】 English version The Buddha attained enlightenment in the sea assembly. Expedient transformations are in reality wrathful appearances, yet spared from annihilation in the Lotus Treasury World (Padmagarbha). Forever without evil thoughts arising, this is the gate of the Buddha's compassion. Persistent recitation will not be in vain, attaining cultivation by relying on the scriptures. Having already seen the realm of Suchness, but if only seeking worldly affairs, There will be no result, and it will not be as desired. If one is not truly sincere, Laboring in vain, it will be difficult to succeed. I, in my foolishness, advise the wise. These are not deceitful words. If I speak falsely, May I fall into the striking-ball hell. The secrets of the forty-two paths, The texts of the four great precious seals, the intent of the great power Vajra, The six seals are on the fingertips, do not distort them haphazardly. I now explain in detail the meaning of the scriptures. The Dharma-ending Age is destined to be in the world. Protecting the Dharma, protecting the monarch, until the coming age of Maitreya. The Correct Dharma, Semblance Dharma, and Dharma-ending periods, appear together according to their kind. Original wisdom transforms into subsequent wisdom, the Transformation Buddha proclaims secret words. Great power transforms into the next king, the next king writes compassionate books. May we understand the meaning within the scriptures, may all sentient beings awaken. Diligently prostrate morning and evening, with continuous mindfulness, never ceasing. Read the Great Avatamsaka Sutra, no one can overturn its principles. The Bhikshu Haitong asked, only then understanding the intent of Sakyamuni. The Buddha opens the supreme vehicle, all people can enter. Print and distribute scriptures to all directions, the Greatly Awakened One originally has no words. Mindfully support all sentient beings according to their kind, with body, speech, and mind karma. Without weariness or laziness, my mouth is clumsy, and my tongue is dull. I am incapable of daring to write, but I will not be ignorant of the principle of Suchness. The Dharma-ending Age lasts for ten thousand years. The Three Jewels (Triratna) testify without increase or decrease. The majesty of the Eight Classes (Eight kinds of supernatural beings) constantly adds protection. The descendants are of the pure lineage of the Ikshvaku Kshatriya, because of great causes and conditions they can transmit in the Dharma-ending Age. At the Bhadra River, between the twin trees, entering the Samadhi of Nirvana. The Eight Classes are distressed, the world lords wail and fall. The emperors of various countries come to the Buddha's assembly at the same time, beating their chests and stamping their feet, sobbing and weeping in prostration. The sound shakes the three realms, the light of the sun and moon dims. Gloomy clouds and dismal fog, mountains collapse and the earth roars. Flying birds cry sadly, plants wither and decay. Springs dry up, the sea rises in waves. All things with form are draped in mourning clothes. Arhats should.


真不曉真諦理。

菩提薩埵達其化理趣。了悟無常安禪如虛空。不生不滅留惑潤生里。十二緣生葉落方見跡。

蠢動含靈本有成佛性。三界諸天前赴涅槃供。諸大帝王哀戀慕如來。螺髻輕蔑商量差仙取。

諸天便差大力咒仙取。各執寶杵收攝魔王去。才嗅穢氣鎖在禁中圍。無法取歸諸天前來禮。

愿佛慈悲慈悲哀納受。魔鬼災害一方食生命。劫奪室女欲樂快活受。積骨如山愿佛化歸順。

諸王動哭如來寂滅后。貢高我慢惡鬼不敬信。諸天差仙七日不還歸。愁悶滴淚來禮金棺軀。

能仁慈父順人歸寂滅。眾生造惡感得魔王出。螺髻苦害食啖眾生肉。愿佛慈悲去邪眾生主。

根本智佛常樂寂光已。后智化現三頭八臂立。都攝寶印火輪金剛揮。罥索鈴音八龍纏身臂(二一右手開山印二手金剛杵三手寶鈴四手寶印戟左一手都攝印二手火輪三手罥索四手寶劍)。

九目三面利劍寶印戟。青黑藍澱發赤上豎起。次佛宣咒大現光明輝。無量魔王盡赴恭敬禮。

腕慣寶鋜足按閻浮界。右足印空彩裙繚繞起。智火洞然塞滿虛空中。讀誦受持定到無生位。

加持本咒四十三字母。頂光如來親說伽陀啟。法界含識世主及無數。聽說梵音圓滿陀羅尼(前咒內闕九字咒句續添入)

【English Translation】 English version Truly, I do not understand the true principle.

Bodhisattva (Bodhisattva, sentient being of enlightenment) understands the principle of transformation, comprehends the impermanence of the world, and enters Samadhi (Samadhi, meditative consciousness) in peace like the void. Neither born nor extinguished, yet still flows in the cycle of birth and death due to delusion. The principle of the twelve links of dependent origination is like the falling of leaves, only then can the traces be seen.

All living beings originally possess the Buddha-nature to become Buddhas. All the gods of the three realms come to offer Nirvana (Nirvana, the cessation of suffering). All the great emperors mourn and adore the Tathagata (Tathagata, 'Thus Gone One', a title of the Buddha). The ascetic with a conch-shell hair style scornfully discussed sending immortals.

The gods then sent a powerful curse-wielding immortal, each holding a precious vajra (Vajra, diamond scepter) to subdue the demon kings. As soon as they smelled the foul odor, they locked the demon kings in a confined enclosure. Unable to bring them back, the gods came to pay homage.

May the Buddha have compassion, compassionately accept our prayers. The demons bring disaster, devouring life in one region, plundering maidens, and enjoying sensual pleasures. The accumulated bones are like mountains, may the Buddha transform them to submit.

The kings wept bitterly because the Tathagata had already entered Parinirvana (Parinirvana, the final nirvana). The arrogant and haughty demons do not respect or believe in the Dharma. The immortals sent by the gods did not return for seven days, they shed tears of sorrow and came to pay homage to the golden coffin.

The benevolent and compassionate father, Shakyamuni (Shakyamuni, the sage of the Shakya clan, referring to the Buddha) complied with the world and entered Parinirvana. Sentient beings create evil karma, causing the demon kings to appear. The ascetic with a conch-shell hair style torments living beings, devouring their flesh. May the Buddha have compassion, remove evil, and become the master of all beings.

The primordial wisdom Buddha is always joyful in the tranquil light. The subsequent wisdom manifests as a form with three heads and eight arms. Completely holding the precious mudra (Mudra, symbolic gesture), wielding the fire wheel vajra. The noose and the sound of the bell, eight dragons entwined around the arms (The first right hand holds the mountain-opening mudra, the second hand holds the vajra, the third hand holds the precious bell, the fourth hand holds the precious mudra halberd; the first left hand holds the all-gathering mudra, the second hand holds the fire wheel, the third hand holds the noose, the fourth hand holds the precious sword).

Nine eyes, three faces, holding a sharp sword, precious mudra, and halberd. Blue-black hair stands upright. Then the Buddha proclaims the mantra, emitting great light. Countless demon kings come to pay homage respectfully.

Wearing precious bracelets on the wrists, feet pressing on Jambudvipa (Jambudvipa, the Southern Continent). The right foot imprints the void, colorful skirts swirling around. The fire of wisdom blazes brightly, filling the void. Reciting and upholding this mantra will surely reach the state of non-birth.

Blessing the forty-three syllables of this original mantra. The light-crowned Tathagata personally speaks the Gatha (Gatha, verse). The sentient beings contained in the Dharma realm, the lords of the world, and countless beings, hear the Brahma sound, fulfilling the Dharani (Dharani, mnemonic device). 【English Translation】 English version (Transforming the mortal substance for Pure Land, creating a Buddha body).

The assembly of Bodhisattvas, Shravakas (voice-hearers), and Pratyekabuddhas (solitary realizers) gather together. The Eight Classes of gods and dragons constantly protect day and night. Precepts, meditation, and wisdom are cultivated, and all kinds of adornments are accomplished. The Bodhi mind has long been awakened, and ultimately Anuttara-Samyak-Sambodhi (unsurpassed perfect enlightenment) is attained.

The Dharmakaya (Buddha's true body) is formless and without characteristics, so how can there be talk of arising and ceasing? Ignorance, darkness, wrong views, anger, and constant strife. Delusion in lust is like being in a burning house, the mind is full of doubt. Only by penetrating Suchness (the true nature of things) can one reach the other shore.

The Buddha transformed from the light on the crown of the head begins to proclaim the divine mantra, seeking the first fruit (Srotapanna) up to the state of Tathagata (Buddha). The Five Roots, Five Powers, Bodhi, and Eight Noble Truths (the eightfold path to Nirvana). In the four continents illuminated by the sun and moon, how can there be day and night?

The Four Immeasurable Minds of loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity, and the myriad practices of the Six Paramitas (perfections) begin to be cultivated. 'Lam Tat Qing Xu', instantly realize the marrow of the Buddha's bones. The Bodhisattvas of the Ten Bhumis (grounds) and the Three Worthies achieve accomplishments that are inseparable from this body. The faculties of sentient beings gradually mature, and ultimately they can all become vessels for Buddhahood.

The sun of the Tathagata's wisdom pervades the entire Dharmadhatu (realm of reality). The light shines brightly, dispelling the greed, hatred, and ignorance of sentient beings. Those who are alive think things are permanent, and those who are dead think everything is annihilated. Impermanence and non-annihilation are the first true news.

The Brahma King Who Saves the World leads all the Brahma heavens, circling the golden coffin, paying homage to the great deity. Since I followed the Buddha to travel through the ten directions, among the Vajra-holders, there is no saint more supreme than the Buddha.

The Divine King proclaims, telling the Brahma King Who Saves the World: I manifested after Perfect Enlightenment, and my name is Vajrapani, the Great Divine King. Subduing the Ushnisha Brahma is to show it to future sentient beings.

The precious seal suppresses the mind, and there are forty-two characters in the spiritual text. Sweep away the monsters, and all return to the Eastern world. Ushnisha Brahma is arrogant, thinking that both Tao and Buddha will enter Nirvana. Arising and ceasing are without characteristics, the karmic affinity is exhausted, and one follows the law of quiescence.

The wisdom and power of the Sugata (Buddha) cannot be compared to mine. The divine power of Bodhisattvas and Arhats is like the dust on a fingernail. The power of the World-Honored One (Buddha) is inconceivable, like the earth. The demon king secretly thinks that his supernatural powers are the first.

The Tathagata's (Buddha) karmic affinity is exhausted, and he manifests the appearance of entering Nirvana. The demons are arrogant and do not pay homage to the Tathagata. Destroy their caves and take back their two parts of power. Let them return to the divine view, and the gods and humans will no longer be annoyed.

The gods and the fourfold assembly are very happy in their hearts, and the demon king's palaces all collapse and crumble. The demon king's evil followers fall down in fear. Perhaps the supernatural powers of the two immortals still exist.

I pondered that my divine power was insufficient to know this. Tears streamed down my eyes, knowing that disaster would strike sooner or later.

The Buddha transformed from the light on the crown of his head recited a gatha (伽陀,a verse). The light illuminated the dust-like worlds. The palaces of the demon kings of the Three Realms were as dark as ink, and they dared not disobey, so (the Buddha's light) took the sentient beings away.

The demon with snail-shell hair (螺髻,a demon with a snail-shell-like hairstyle) was so frightened that his eight consciousnesses (八識,the eight types of consciousness in Buddhism: eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind, manas, and alaya) left his body. His ministers and followers gradually rose from the ground. The filth was eliminated, and all the demons took refuge, only wishing for compassion to spare my remaining life (the two groups of mantra-wielding immortals each restored their divine powers).

The great deity rebuked with a mantra: 'Dutiful! Snail-shell-haired demon, you are extremely foolish, arrogant, indulgent, and addicted to pleasure. Your evil heart remains unchanged, offending the compassionate lord. You should quickly repent, abandon evil, and return to the right path.'

'If you do not repent, then quickly seek repentance and purification, preserve your life, and pay homage to Nirvana (涅槃,the state of liberation from the cycle of birth and death) and depart. In your previous life, you forcibly gave to wise beings. When your blessings are exhausted and your pleasure is satisfied, you will fall into Naraka (泥犁,hell).'

'Your karma of the mind is not good, and the sins you have committed are as high as mountains. Hundreds and thousands of followers gather in one place. Hundreds and thousands of people suffer disasters every day, and each person has eight consciousnesses and four snakes following them.

The six senses (六情,the six sense organs: eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind) are mutually opposed and attached, and there is no compassion in their thoughts. They attract and seduce sentient beings, and are oppressed by the eighty-eight bonds (八十八使,the eighty-eight types of afflictions in Buddhism). Hundreds of afflictions are intertwined, and twenty more evils are added. Suffering arises from this at all twelve times of the day.'

'The wicked followers have heavenly demons as their kin, luring sentient beings into the gathering place of the demon party. At every turn, tens of thousands of people suffer disasters and are subjected to great executions, leaving only the masters of the four elements (四大,the four elements: earth, water, fire, and wind), the five aggregates (五蘊,the five aggregates: form, feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness), and the six roots (六根,the six sense organs: eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind).

Consciousness cannot manifest, and the five roots are often twisted and turned. The six dusts (六塵,the six sense objects: form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharma), the form of the six dusts, the seven outflows (七漏,the seven types of defilements), and the eight impurities (八垢,the eight types of impurities) stir. 二部咒仙各還神通力。儼然如故衛繞神王立。螺髻帥眾發露求懺除。白言聖者愍念休生疑。

螺髻啟告善來大仙知。我昔習學惡業因緣至。剛強凌物損他眾生軀。今逢宣化我今頭面禮。

魔王宮殿大作佛事起。天地晴霽日月增光輝。飛走忻歡來繞金棺體。雙樹變白鞠恭接足禮。

【English Translation】 English version The fruit of virtue (Deguo). Eighty-four thousand afflictions transform into aspects of light. All of these are created by your own mind, not coming from external sources. Like the clear blue sky, originally without anything, yet black clouds rise and stir. Suddenly the clouds disperse, the sun and moon reappear, round and bright like a mirror. Those dense obscurations are not to be sought from external places. It is your own mind, originally complete and upright, that is deluded. When awakened, the essence of your being will not be diminished in the slightest. Turn back your evil thoughts, and you will return to the right path. Like offering precious rain, palaces, flower garlands, and the like. The Tathagatas, Bodhisattvas, Arhats of the Four Fruits, and Sangha of the Dharma Realm, as well as the Nagas, and lords of the world, all enter the realm of non-action (Wuwei). The Ushnisha-crowned Brahma King then bowed to the great deity. With tears in his eyes, he prostrated himself with all five limbs, repenting for all the improper deeds he had done in the past. Together, they proclaimed, 'Namo Shakyamuni Buddha' (The Ushnisha King sought repentance from the two immortals). The two groups of mantra-reciting immortals each restored their supernatural powers. Solemnly, as before, they stood guarding the divine king. The Ushnisha King, leading his followers, openly confessed and sought to eliminate their offenses. He reported to the sages, hoping for compassion and no longer harboring doubts. The Ushnisha King reported to the auspicious great immortals, 'Please know that in the past, due to learning evil deeds, the karmic conditions matured. I was strong and violent, insulting others, and harming the bodies of sentient beings. Now, encountering the propagation of the Dharma, I bow to you.' Great Buddhist ceremonies arose in the palace of the demon king. The heavens and earth cleared, and the sun and moon increased in brightness. Flying and running creatures rejoiced and gathered around the golden coffin. The twin Sala trees turned white, bowing and touching their feet in reverence. The Great Power Divine King led the demon-haired ghosts. Ministers, retinues, and the two immortals all gazed and bowed in reverence. The fourfold assembly of the Buddha's gathering, the eight classes of gods and immortals, each respectfully recited verses in unison. All kinds of deluded thoughts arise from ignorance. Creating various illusions, the demon king becomes their retinue. The Tathagata teaches us not to enter the path of the demon party. Supporting the tradition and establishing the teachings, with no intention of ever changing. 'Gold comes from ore, covered by ignorance. Oil is in the flour, forever difficult to extract. Ore and oil can be distinguished, flour is white, and gold is red. Abandoning evil and returning to the right, gold and white gold are not two different things.' The Dharma universally transforms and teaches the beings of the three realms and four types of birth. Everything is created by the mind alone, not to be sought elsewhere. Initially encountering a wise teacher, one will not enter crooked paths. Now encountering the greatly enlightened one, one can avoid the suffering of reincarnation. Gold can be fashioned into eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and body.

【English Translation】 English version 『Nature』 does not change, like basins, plates, hairpins, bracelets, and other objects. The myriad things are different, but their inherent nature is very clear. Melting gold, its 『nature』 (gold nature) remains constant, reflecting the free and unhindered function of emptiness.

The four maras (affliction mara, skandha mara, death mara, deva mara) create obstacles, and the Tathagata's compassion arises. Mahakala (the Great Black One) appears with great power and wrath. Avalokitesvara transforms with great wisdom into Hayagriva (Horse-Headed King), as the lord of hell. Because of not abandoning the vow to save sentient beings, he comes to the world to save them from suffering.

Opening the gate of compassion, saving the world with non-action wisdom. Compassionate clouds spread universally, covering the four types of beings: born from the womb, born from eggs, born from moisture, and born by transformation. Stubborn poison and wrong views cannot enter the path of Bodhi (enlightenment). The powerful and the humble will eventually return to the ultimate destination.

The Deva-raja (divine king) hears the verses, and his eight arms shake. His nine eyes gaze around, pressing down on his right leg, standing on one foot. The fire of round and complete wisdom emerges from the purple-gold coffin. Destroying illusions, eliminating the Rakshasa (demon) with a topknot.

The secret chapters have powerful functions, universally bestowing benefits in the Dharma-ending age. Even those who initially practice the ten virtues (non-killing, non-stealing, non-sexual misconduct, non-lying, non-divisive speech, non-harsh speech, non-idle chatter, non-greed, non-hatred, non-wrong views) can eliminate foul speech and impurity. The Buddhas of the ten directions hear the sound of reciting the divine mantra. Once remembered, one can immediately reach the state beyond words.

Manjusri, Samantabhadra, Avalokitesvara, Vajragarbha and other Bodhisattvas, as well as Sariputra, Subhuti and other enlightened ones. Also, Maudgalyayana, Kasyapa and other Arhats who have attained the four fruits. They praise, 'Excellent!' and celebrate with offerings of incense and flowers.

The devas of the three realms and the wrathful Vajra assembly, hearing this mantra, bow and stand guard. Whatever is wished for, there is nothing that cannot be achieved. Those who have not yet understood the truth can quickly attain the path of Bodhi (reciting this mantra is efficacious; one can draw talismans, print incense wood, carve pestles, and test treatments for all kinds of diseases, etc.).

Reciting my mantra-king is like meeting sweet rain after a long drought. Like meeting a great general again after being defeated in battle. Like a lonely person meeting their parents on the road. Like an old person with a deep-seated illness meeting the divine physician Jivaka.

The mantra-reciting master should not have doubts or worries. The Deva-raja respectfully obeys, driving and employing you as you wish. Beings in the heavens, Asuras, hells, and hungry ghost realms, all can be liberated upon hearing the mantra.

Even those who recite with evil intentions can still obtain superior rewards. If one can be diligent and focused, with mind and mouth in harmony, then no other merit is comparable to the power of a Gatha (verse). Good men and women who recite this mantra will receive benefits.

Write this mantra on silk paper, palm leaves, or on precious nets, clothing, flower garlands, or precious boxes. Depending on where it is written, the devas and dragons will protect it. A jeweled canopy covers the top, like an ancient Buddha sitting peacefully.

If even a single mote of dust


墮咒於物上。風吹微塵落在眾生身。所得福報如似恒河數。彩畫頂像除卻阿鼻獄。

沈箋檀木工巧跋折羅。寶杵執持杵像曼拏心。香華燈涂果蓏飲食奉。供養釋迦忿怒大神尊。

Painting and prostrating before the image on the crown of the head can eliminate the suffering of falling into Avici Hell (Avici Hell). Use aloeswood, fine paper, sandalwood, and other exquisite materials to craft the Vajra (Vajra). Hold the precious Vajra in your hand, and visualize the image of the Vajra and the Mandala (Mandala) in your mind. Offer incense, flowers, lamps, scented paste, fruits, and pastries to Shakya Wrathful Great Deity (Shakya Wrathful Great Deity). Use water and mud to sculpt compassionate Buddha images. Use various solemn and beautiful implements to place the image of the Vajra. Sincerely form the mudra, and recite it unwaveringly ten hundred thousand times. Eliminate poisons, evil influences, and other evil arts that harm the lives of others. The patient's illness is due to the karma of past lives and the debts of many lifetimes. Writing the secret mantra in cinnabar can permanently eliminate the pain. The mantra master who recites the mantra sincerely blesses the water. Write a square seal in cinnabar, containing forty-two secrets. Cut, fold, and seal it, and wear it on the body. Or knead it into pills and swallow them to eliminate various diseases. If no one can write it, you can use the Precious Seal Responsive Talisman. Carve a seal from fragrant wood, dip it in cinnabar, and stamp it on paper. Cut it into pills and take them as before, and it will be incredibly effective. The light on the crown of the head transforms into a Buddha, emitting great rays of light. The beginning speaks of the past, present, and future. All Buddhas proclaim the root mantra with the same voice. Enlightenment and Nirvana (Nirvana) cannot be separated from this sound. The Four kinds of beings (Four kinds of beings) and the Eight kinds of beings (Eight kinds of beings) are all reciting it. Pure and faithful men and women, wholeheartedly chant the secret syllables. Emit light, shake the earth, and manifest great miraculous transformations. The mantra master will see what he seeks in a dream. 古往帝王儲君並大臣。身心病疾持念無不應。

都攝頓除水涌藥光出。服下痊瘥百病難生起。日月薄蝕風雨不依時。五星失度逼迫眾生苦。

人災國兇歲儉逆賊起。君臣失措五路都攝錄。仰視虛空立期誦咒起。保國安寧永無災禍起。

魏周唐武毀滅佛法僧。不聽出家修行明真性。驅逼僧尼還俗差役重。毀滅宗乘定入阿鼻輪。

但誦寶玉結前都攝印。苾芻困苦轉與惡王所。彼自悔責懺悔心歸依。塔廟依然精舍伽藍起。

金銀銅鐵香篆龍形像。甕缸水滿投像於水際。娑竭羅龍手印都攝錄。水涌像動空中鳴雷震。

牟尼火化大權神王佛。三種名號及誦佛世尊。大澍甘雨遍灑閻浮地。久雨損物止雷得晴霽。

像馬駝牛禽獸難調製。時行疾病但飲神咒水。蛇鼠惡蟲損他諸般物。水灑屋地自然他無跡。

所有禁制一一說不盡。慇勤仔細請看正經去。超凡入聖皆是爾自心。不達真如枉去錯用心。

夜叉惡鬼山精並地靈。水府巖穴樹石一切廟。魍魎邪魔久住人間反。侵犯家國都攝除遣了。

金蠶蛇蠱骷髏金銀蝎。蜈蚣蝦䗫一切蠱神眾。飲食中下殺壞良人命。寶印云符佩帶無所損。

【English Translation】 English version: In ancient times, emperors, crown princes, and ministers, if they had physical or mental illnesses, would sincerely recite the Dhāraṇī of Universal Integration (都攝總持陀羅尼), and there would be no failure to respond. The Dhāraṇī of Universal Integration can immediately eliminate disasters, water will gush forth, and medicinal light will appear. After taking it, illnesses will be cured, and various diseases will be difficult to arise. If there are eclipses of the sun and moon, unfavorable winds and rains, or abnormal movements of the five planets, oppressing sentient beings with suffering. When human disasters occur, the country shows ominous signs, the harvest is poor, or rebellious bandits rise up, and the rulers and ministers are at a loss, they can rely on the Dhāraṇī of Universal Integration. Looking up to the sky, setting a time limit for reciting the mantra, one can protect the country's peace and security, and there will be no disasters ever arising. In the past, the Wei, Zhou, Tang, and Wu dynasties destroyed the Triple Gem of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, did not allow people to leave home to practice, realize their true nature, drove and forced monks and nuns to return to lay life, making them bear heavy labor, destroying the Buddhist teachings, and they will surely fall into the Avīci hell (阿鼻地獄). As long as one recites the Jewel Seal and forms the Mudrā of Universal Integration, even if a Bhikṣu (苾芻, monk) is in distress and handed over to an evil king, the evil king will regret and blame himself, repent and take refuge in the Dharma, and pagodas and monasteries will still be built. Place incense seals in the shape of dragons made of gold, silver, copper, and iron in a jar filled with water, and then throw the jar to the water's edge. Sāgara-nāga (娑竭羅龍, the Dragon King of the Sea) will use the Mudrā of Universal Integration, water will gush out, the Buddha image will shake, and thunder will sound in the air. After Muni (牟尼, an epithet of Śākyamuni Buddha) is cremated, the Mahābala-deva-rāja-buddha (大權神王佛) appears, reciting these three names and the name of the Buddha-Bhagavān (佛世尊), sweet rain will fall, sprinkling all over Jambudvīpa (閻浮提, the world we live in). If prolonged rain causes disaster, reciting this mantra can stop lightning and obtain clear weather. If elephants, horses, camels, cattle, and other birds and beasts are difficult to tame, or if there are epidemics, just drink water blessed with the divine mantra, and they will recover. If snakes, rats, and other evil insects damage other things, sprinkle water on the floor of the house, and they will naturally disappear without a trace. All the methods of prohibition cannot be fully described one by one, please diligently and carefully read the proper scriptures. Transcending the ordinary and entering the sacred all depends on your own mind. Not understanding Tathātā (真如, the true nature of things), you waste your efforts and use your mind in the wrong place. Yakṣas (夜叉, a type of spirit), evil ghosts, mountain spirits, and earth spirits, the goblins and demons in water palaces, caves, trees, stones, and all temples, if they live in the human world for a long time and cause trouble, invading families and countries, they can all be eliminated and dispelled with the Dhāraṇī of Universal Integration. If someone uses golden silkworms, snake poisons, skeletons, golden and silver scorpions, centipedes, toads, and all kinds of Gu spirits (蠱神眾) to poison food and drink, killing good people, wearing the Jewel Seal Cloud Talisman will prevent any harm. For those with the heart of a wolf and the behavior of a dog, those who are human-faced beasts, as long as you know their birth date and childhood name, write their name in cinnabar and step on it with your feet, you can subdue them.

心智頑鈍無所知分曉。欲求智慧都攝伽陀用。吞服咒印默與大辯才。總持多聞博雅多究竟。

貧窮受苦誦唸給孤富。長生不死戒定與菩提。惠施眾生後世大貴富。學習神丹紫磨黃金勝。

分段身形變易常不壞。定入分段神通長自在。似鳥飛空往來無掛礙。頂上出火腳下出水海。

變易無礙聖凡難測度。像前禁山誦唸如前作。住居乏水穿鑿香甜水。眾生病證即時消散去。

素無子息秘咒都攝錄。百病婦女鬼胎延年滯。祖宗見禍男女行孝義。鬼怪山魈咒印即平覆。

染勞傳尸邪鬼夢交感。鼻口四肢巨富去採寶。若遭官訟囚禁便得免。臨敵交鋒逆賊自然息。

【English Translation】 English version: With great sincerity, I prostrate with my head and face to the ground, repenting for my faults. My mind is dull and lacks understanding. I desire to obtain the wisdom of the all-encompassing Gāthā (verse), to gain wisdom like the goddess Mahā-Sarasvatī (great eloquence) through silent recitation of the mantra-seal, to uphold all Dharmas, to be widely learned and erudite, and to reach the ultimate state. Those who are poor and suffering, by reciting this mantra, can become as wealthy as Anāthapiṇḍada (a wealthy man known for his generosity). Reciting this mantra can grant longevity, discipline, meditation, and Bodhi wisdom. By bestowing blessings upon sentient beings, one can attain great wealth and nobility in future lives. Studying this mantra is like refining a divine elixir, obtaining wisdom as precious as purple-gold. The segmented body can become immortal and indestructible. By entering the state of segmented supernatural powers through meditation, one can attain lasting freedom. One can fly freely in the sky like a bird, coming and going without hindrance. One can emit fire from the top of the head and water from the soles of the feet. This unimpeded transformation is difficult for both saints and ordinary beings to fathom. In front of the Buddha's image, remain silent like a forbidden mountain, and recite as previously mentioned. If the place of residence lacks water, one can drill and find fragrant and sweet water. The illnesses of sentient beings can be immediately dispelled. If one has been without offspring, one can secretly recite this all-encompassing mantra. It can cure women's various ailments, ghost pregnancies, and prolong life. If ancestors manifest misfortune, it can enable sons and daughters to practice filial piety. Ghosts and mountain demons (shān xiāo) can be pacified through the mantra-seal. It can cure diseases, corpse poison, evil spirits, and nightmares. It can make the nose, mouth, limbs healthy, and acquire great wealth to gather treasures. If one encounters lawsuits, one can be freed from imprisonment. Facing enemy confrontations, rebellion will naturally subside. Seeking in the Buddha-land, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished. The Buddha can subdue heavenly demons and icchantikas (those who have severed their roots of goodness). All worldly affairs, in various ways, can be fulfilled as desired. This is the secret language of Ratnarāja (a title of the Buddha), spoken by the Tathāgata (another title of the Buddha), emitting light. Always maintain the state of permanence, joy, self, and purity (nitya, sukha, ātman, śubha), binding the mind and intention like a monkey. If wishes cannot be fulfilled, then all that the Sugata (another title of the Buddha) has said is false. The Tathāgata speaks true words, real words, without deception. One can attain Anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi (unsurpassed, complete, perfect enlightenment). This Gāthā is very efficacious, spoken by all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Śrāvakas (disciples), celestial beings, seals, and images can all serve as aids. This is the power of great vows from past lives, dhyāna (meditation), and diligent effort. Although brāhmaṇas (Brahmins) and heretics are clever, they are as ignorant as black lacquer. How dare Vajrapāṇi (the Diamond Hand Bodhisattva) boast? On the top of his head, a Buddha manifests, proclaiming the divine mantra. He rises up in wrath, the implements held in his eight arms, universally emit immeasurable light of hundreds of treasures. The manifested Buddha on the top of his head also emits the light of a great person. With palms joined, sitting upright, from his mouth emits immeasurable light. Shining upon each other, scattering and destroying the calamities of illusions. Eliminating impurities, subduing the Kuṇḍala-keśī (a type of heretical female ascetic). The three realms (trailokya, the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm)


諸天四王叨利等。六道修羅住世梵王眾。世主恭敬大眾跪膝禮。宣說神通圓滿密咒音。

【English Translation】 English version The Four Heavenly Kings (Cāturmahārājakāyikas), Trayastrimsa (Trāyastriṃśa) and others, the Asuras (Asura) of the Six Realms, and the Brahma Kings (Brahmā) dwelling in the world, the lords of the world respectfully kneel and pay homage to the assembly, proclaiming the sound of the secret mantra of perfect supernatural powers.

At that time, the Transformation Buddha of the Divine King of Top Light said, 'This is the power of great, vast, and perfect supernatural abilities. The assembly of enlightened beings, including devas and humans, who listen to the Dharma, obtain pure Dharma eyes and each attain the samadhi realization.'

Escorting the Hair-knot (referring to a hairstyle, also referring to the Hair-knot Brahma King), first sending two divisions back, surrounding him from front and back, together arriving at the place of Nirvana (Nirvāṇa). The Transformation Buddha and Divine King travel throughout the ten directions, the Transformation Buddha preaches the Dharma, benefiting and saving the lords of sentient beings.

The Great Powerful Divine King proclaims for the four assemblies to hear, 'Just now, our Buddha proclaimed the sound of the miraculous mantra, the walls of the demon palace all collapsed and nothing remains, the foul odor evaporates far away and transforms into Utpala (Utpala) fruits.'

The Fundamental Wisdom Buddha manifests hundreds of thousands of billions of incarnations, eternally abiding and not perishing, whether the Buddha dwells in the world or after the Buddha's Parinirvana (Parinirvāṇa), sentient beings pray, make great vows and persist in practice, the place where they sit is peaceful and nourishing, transforming into a Dharma body.

The Bhikshu (monk) who persists in practice sits in the Stupa (stūpa) of Many Jewels, diligently and strictly instantly realizes Shakyamuni (Śākyamuni) Buddha, vows to command and serve those who uphold the mantra, obtaining the six supernormal powers and attaining the great gate of liberation.

The Divine King speaks the oath, fearing that people will have doubts, may the Tathagata (Tathāgata) observe the true situation, act as proof, dispel the doubts of all sentient beings, without doubt or fear, again expound the thunderous sound.

At this time, although the Tathagata (Tathāgata) has already entered Parinirvana (Parinirvāṇa) and is in stillness, from the left heart manifests hundreds of treasures and light emerges, the Buddhas of the ten directions emit light and pour it into the golden body, Bodhisattvas (Bodhisattva), Sravakas (Śrāvaka) (disciples who attain enlightenment by hearing the Buddha's teachings), and the four assemblies are amazed.

The arrogant minister of the Hair-knot and his left retinue, praise in unison, their hearts filled with joy, the eye of the Tao illuminates and penetrates, understanding the truth of emptiness and Suchness (Tathātā), the Buddha lands of dust and sand, the lands of Equal Enlightenment and Wonderful Enlightenment.

The Transformation Buddha of Top Light rises with a joyful smile, announcing to the Divine King and the assembly to listen to my proclamation, the Fundamental Wisdom Buddha Shakyamuni (Śākyamuni) Buddha, loses his light and subdues the Hair-knot demon who creates karma.

The Transformation Buddha proclaims that the Fundamental Wisdom Buddha has entered Parinirvana (Parinirvāṇa), the Hair-knot is rebellious, the warrior of the left heart appears, humans and devas are alarmed and doubtful, gathering the demon devas to return, acting on behalf of the Buddha, Suchness (Tathātā) and compassion manifest.

The demon kings of the heavens fold their hands and bow to the Wisdom Buddha, the ministers and subordinates are ready to receive teachings when their karmic conditions ripen.


記。在會清信各發菩提意。永無退轉堅固誓願持。

放光如來舒手摩螺頂。善哉善學舍邪歸正路。得蒙授記領悟真如性。改故重新勇猛精進力(螺髻王得蒙授記名曰清凈光明佛)。

梵王得記同來善知識。六十億劫修諸菩薩位。廣於十方供養恒沙佛。累劫修行證入如來地。

螺髻證得清凈光明佛。調御丈夫十號皆具足。佛壽二萬天人聽法音。廣宣流佈應以雜類身。

示現二乘聲聞緣覺侶。即現佛身一乘至理趣。胎卵濕化上至菩薩乘。蠢動含靈皆聽光明音。

證得初果直至辟支位。遠行法雲十地滿心住。成就無上佛果大菩提。正像末法佛壽二萬歲。

光明如來入滅寂定已。次第授與一尊菩薩繼。今日所歸大臣眷屬類。次第所證光明如來體。

其佛國土皆名無垢世。天龍八部四眾盡歸依。與今所宣清凈光明佛。並無差別同住無垢世。

無垢世界菩薩二乘人。八部威靈四眾聽法音。光明如來同今化佛宣。大滿神咒四十二道聖。

清凈如來緣畢涅槃已。三昧智火焚身收舍利。建立寶塔高至梵天所。天人四眾供養作福處。

證得初果(Sotapanna,須陀洹果,入流果)直至辟支佛(Pratyekabuddha,緣覺)的果位。遠行至法雲地(Dharmamegha,十地菩薩所證之位),十地菩薩的圓滿心境安住其中。成就無上的佛果,證得大菩提(Mahabodhi,偉大的覺悟)。正法、像法、末法時期,佛的壽命都是二萬歲。

光明如來進入寂滅禪定之後,依次授記給一尊菩薩繼承佛位。今日所歸順的大臣和眷屬們,次第所證悟的都是光明如來的法體。

那佛的國土都名為無垢世(Immaculate World)。天龍八部(Devas and Nagas,天上的龍族和其他護法神)和四眾弟子(比丘、比丘尼、優婆塞、優婆夷)都歸依。與現在所宣說的清凈光明佛,並沒有差別,同樣住在無垢世。

無垢世界的菩薩和二乘人,八部威靈和四眾弟子,都聆聽佛法之音。光明如來與現在所化現的佛所宣說的一樣。大圓滿神咒(Maha Purna Dharani),四十二道聖賢。

Brahma (Lord of the Form Realm) received the prediction and came together with Kalyanamitras (spiritual friends). For sixty billion Kalpas (extremely long units of time), cultivating the various Bodhisattva (beings who seek enlightenment for the benefit of all) stages. Making offerings to Buddhas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges in the vast regions of the ten directions. Accumulating eons of practice, entering the Tathagatagarbha (the realm of the Buddha).

Luo Ji attained the fruit of Pure Light Buddha. The Purusadamya-sarathi (tamer of beings), possessing all ten titles. The Buddha's lifespan is twenty thousand years, with gods and humans listening to the Dharma. Widely proclaiming and spreading, responding with various forms.

Manifesting as Sravakas (those who attain enlightenment by hearing the Dharma) and Pratyekabuddhas (those who attain enlightenment on their own) of the Two Vehicles (Sravakayana and Pratyekabuddhayana). Immediately manifesting the Buddha's body, expounding the supreme truth of the One Vehicle (Ekayana, the only path to Buddhahood). From womb-born, egg-born, moisture-born, and transformation-born, up to the Bodhisattva Vehicle. All sentient beings that wriggle and contain consciousness listen to the pure light of the Buddha's voice.

Attaining the first fruit (Sotapanna, Stream-enterer) up to the position of Pratyekabuddha. Traveling far to the Dharmamegha (Cloud of Dharma, the position attained by the tenth-ground Bodhisattva), the complete mind of the tenth-ground Bodhisattva dwells within. After the Buddha of Emitting Light enters tranquil extinction, he successively bestows the prediction upon a Bodhisattva to inherit the Buddha's position. The ministers and retinue who submit today, successively realize the Dharma body of the Buddha of Emitting Light.

That Buddha's land is named Immaculate World. Devas and Nagas (gods, dragons, and other protective deities) and the fourfold assembly (bhikshus, bhikshunis, upasakas, upasikas) all take refuge. There is no difference between the Pure Light Buddha proclaimed now and the one residing in the Immaculate World.

The Bodhisattvas and those of the Two Vehicles in the Immaculate World, the powerful spirits of the eight divisions, and the fourfold assembly, all listen to the Dharma. The Buddha of Emitting Light proclaims the same as the manifested Buddha now. The Great Perfection Dharani (Maha Purna Dharani), the forty-two paths of sages.

After the Pure Buddha's karmic connections are complete and he enters Nirvana (extinction), he burns his body with the fire of Samadhi (concentration) and collects the Sarira (relics). A precious pagoda is built, towering to the Brahma heavens. Gods and humans of the fourfold assembly make offerings, as a place to cultivate merit.

At that time, Luo Ji and his companions who came together received the prediction of Bodhi from the manifested Buddha. Rejoicing and leaping, they immediately obtained immeasurable vehicles. In an instant, great Buddha deeds arose.

The Maha Power Deva King carefully listened to what the manifested Buddha said. His heart leaped with joy, and he praised and admired.

【English Translation】 English version: Homage. Announcing to the assembly of pure ones, the venerable ones with ushnisha (a protuberance on the crown of the head, a mark of a Buddha or enlightened being), due to the influence of past karma, great benefits and joy are attained.

The divine king proclaims again that Sakyamuni Buddha, our original teacher, manifested his entrance into Nirvana (parinirvana) out of compassion for you sentient beings in the Dharma-ending age, because sentient beings are bound by burdens and views, losing the benefits of merit. Subduing those with ushnisha requires the Tathagata (Buddha) to appear.

The appearance of my head and body now is a majestic demeanor. The Buddha of Fundamental Wisdom manifests from my left heart. The Great Perfection Mantra is proclaimed by the Buddha manifested from the light of my crown. The merits created are the Dharma practices and rituals of reciting mantras (the ritual of the original divine king forming mudras).

The All-Gathering Treasure Mudra: Bend the left and right ring fingers towards the palms, with the two fingers close together and upright. Pinch the middle fingers together at the tips, with the left finger above and the right finger below. Keep the index fingers straight and upright, with the thumbs touching the bottom of the middle joint of the middle fingers.

With hand mudras and mantras, all things in the world, evil people and wicked ghosts will pay homage to the mantra master who holds the mantras. Abandon evil and rebellious thoughts, respectfully listen to commands. Not daring to disobey, the power of the vows is firm.

The Mountain-Restricting Treasure Mudra: Bend the right ring finger. Keep the other four fingers straight, advancing and retreating seven steps each. One mantra with one mudra, looking left, right, up, and down. Dispersing the mantra and mudra will naturally stop evil thoughts.

The Thunder-Dispelling Treasure Mudra: Used to counter evil winds, hail, and thunder, as well as prolonged heavy rain. Keep the middle, ring, and little fingers straight and upright, with the thumb pinching the middle joint of the middle finger. With the left hand forming the mudra and reciting the mantra, the clouds will dissipate and the sunlight will appear.

The Sudden-Illness Treasure Mudra: Open the right hand solemnly. Bend the index and middle fingers towards the palm. Keep the other three fingers together and straight, which can eliminate the five strains and seven injuries. One mantra with one mudra, recited one hundred and eight times, is miraculously effective.

The Five-Paths Treasure Mudra: Bend the left and right ring fingers towards the palms, with the other eight fingers upright. Used to save people who have died suddenly, dispersing the mudra over the heart of the deceased. Recite the mantra loudly, so that the soul returns to the body.

Evil ghosts and spirits want to invade the mantra-holding master, inauspicious entrances and exits, pursuing fugitives, guarding against thieves day and night, protecting livestock such as cattle, horses, pigs, and sheep, as well as birds and beasts, so that their consciousness does not depart.

The divine king teaches the assembly of good friends, the five great treasure mudras should be believed in and practiced. The four main mudras and forty-two secret methods should be transmitted to sentient beings in the Dharma-ending age, to be circulated and spread.

The greatly empowered, specially transformed, wrathful secondary king appears, whose demeanor and actions are no different from the original divine king. The essence is the divine king.

大權忿怒告示化王:善哉!大悲啊!你能夠做這件事。普遍滿足眾生,均沾大恩惠。大行願力,眾生得到利益。(本體神王讚歎次王)。

Second, the Hidden Invisible Self-Mastery Mudra. Carve it from a piece of fragrant wood, one inch and seven fen in length. The method of encircling and sealing is the same as before. The state of non-being and emptiness can be compared to the Tathagata (如來, Thus Come One).

Third, the Manifest Soaring Self-Mastery Unobstructed Mudra. Carve it from a piece of fragrant wood, one inch and five fen in length. Hair and clothing cover the whole body, imprinted with mantra texts. Only by traveling in the world of dust can one understand the practice of a Bodhisattva (菩薩, Enlightenment Being).

The Spirit and Qi (氣, vital energy) Intermingling Self-Mastery Secret Mantra Mudra. One inch and two fen in length, deeply and directly engrave the text. Dip it in cinnabar and imprint it on the heart; humans and non-humans will respect it. If one cannot attain emptiness, self-reflection is difficult to compare.

Next are the Four Great Treasure Mudras painted by the Secondary King. They can be painted with the assembly, forty-two in total. Complete them on palm-leaf manuscripts or birch bark. Each one is clear and distinct, not deviating from the Sanskrit script.

Next are the talisman seals painted by the Transformation Spirit King. The assembly is filled with sorrow and joy, and the Secondary King joins his palms in reverence. He reports to the Original Body Transformation Spirit King: 'Please, you and the assembly, listen to my truthful words.'

The Five Defilements and Evil Age take lust as their root. The raw and cooked organs perform physiological functions within the abdomen. Hair, body hair, nails, teeth, mucus, saliva, and pus and blood. Sinews, bones, marrow, and brains are all foul-smelling.

The sun and moon operate, and the wind sustains, rotating to become day and night. Metal, wood, water, fire, and earth occupy the cardinal directions. Rāhu (羅睺, a demon in Indian mythology), Ketu (計都, a shadow planet in Indian astrology), and the lunar apogee move. The Four Measures divide the boundaries, and the Seven Stars surround the Northern Dipper.

The Horn and Neck constellations are the leaders, and the Twenty-Eight Constellations are the generals. Waxing and waning changes, in the human world, they govern fortune and misfortune. Tiāngāng (天罡, the handle of the Big Dipper), Hékuí (河魁, the first star in the Big Dipper), and the Purple Qi illuminate people with beauty. The Four Continents are governed by Indra (帝釋, the lord of gods in Buddhism).

The Great Thousand World transformed by the Fundamental Wisdom Buddha. Hundreds of millions of suns and moons, the five planets arrayed among the constellations. They govern directions, disasters, blessings, climate, and so on. The adverse circumstances that sentient beings face are all cultivated by themselves.

Good people in the Dharma-Ending Age must separate from the evil factions. Shorten their lives, abandon my gate of compassion, and follow the secular. Arouse the mind of an Icchantika (闡提, one who has severed their roots of goodness), harming the intentions of a bhikkhu (比丘, a Buddhist monk). The mantra seal is crucial, as if the Buddha were still in the world.

The Great Authority Wrathful One proclaims to the Transformation King: 'Excellent! Great Compassion! You are able to do this. Universally fulfill sentient beings, equally bestowing great kindness and grace. With the power of great vows, sentient beings obtain benefit.' (The Original Body Spirit King praises the Secondary King).


次二神王所作能事畢。寶印靈符對眾親付囑。螺髻極授梵夾靈文禮。爾成佛威本支神王力。

慈善根力大眾賢聖力。諸佛菩薩加被威神力。累劫專心持誦廣流佈。勿令末法眾生遭大苦。

次王告示頂光如來說。大滿咒王手指結印起。五種寶印列宿四十二。各存神用禁制由汝意。

本咒功能說之不可盡。精嚴加持詔示諸神異。水涌波動寶杵橫飛轉。像儀光出言語端的奉。

夢中禪定親見釋迦尊。法報化身大權神王像。妙音撫鬚凡有所求禱。神交氣合五彩法物隱(次二神王隱)。

次二化王放大光明出。本體神王光明從頂起。二王交灌融變化王隱。本體神王八寶依然舉。

化王既隱力士神王說。適來所化忿怒明王出。畫我三頭八臂及按石。威儀進止寶印靈符秘(圓明無相)。

釋迦智佛左心力士起。大權所化次王從空至。虛空法界無量諸如來。皆從毗盧遮那心印出。

螺髻鞠恭合掌頭面體。多蒙提攜攝受歸正路。自前惡念今日盡斷除。悟自真如與佛同一體。

化佛授記螺髻無疑慮。證果成就冷暖自得知。一行部眾同受菩提記。我佛慈悲魔屬得善利。

【English Translation】 English version Then, the two divine kings completed their tasks. They personally entrusted the precious seals and spiritual talismans to the assembly. Luojì (螺髻, the hair whorl on the crown of a Buddha or Bodhisattva's head) received the ritual of the sacred texts in the Brahma scripture. The power of becoming a Buddha lies in the strength of the divine kings.

The fundamental power of charity, the power of the virtuous sages of the assembly. The majestic spiritual power blessed by all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Diligently recite and widely disseminate throughout countless kalpas. Do not let sentient beings in the Dharma-ending age suffer greatly.

Next, the divine king announced to the Top Light Tathagata. The Great Perfection Mantra King arose, forming mudras with his fingers. The five kinds of precious seals, the forty-two constellations. Their respective divine uses and restrictions are up to you to decide.

The functions of this mantra cannot be fully described. With precise and solemn blessings, it proclaims to all the divine wonders. Water surges and undulates, the precious vajra flies horizontally and spins. Images and lights appear, words are truthful and followed.

In dreams and meditation, personally seeing Shakyamuni Buddha (Shìjiā Zūn, Shakyamuni Buddha). The Dharma-kaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya, the image of the Divine King of Great Power. Wonderful sounds stroke the beard, whatever is sought is prayed for. Divine interaction and Qi combine, the five-colored Dharma objects disappear (the next two divine kings disappear).

Next, the two Transformation Kings emit great light. The light of the Original Divine King rises from the crown of his head. The two Transformation Kings inter-irradiate, merging and the Transformation King disappears. The Original Divine King still holds up the eight treasures.

Since the Transformation King has disappeared, the Vajra Divine King speaks. The Wrathful Vidyaraja (Ming Wang) that was just transformed appears. Draw my image with three heads and eight arms, and pressing on a stone. Dignified demeanor, the precious seals and spiritual talismans are secret (perfect and without form).

The Vajra arises from the left heart of Shakyamuni Wisdom Buddha (Shìjiā Zhì Fó, the wisdom body of Shakyamuni Buddha). The Secondary King transformed by Great Power descends from the sky. The countless Tathagatas in the empty Dharma realm. All emerge from the heart-seal of Vairocana (Pílúzhēnà, a Buddha whose name means 'light shining everywhere').

Luojì (螺髻) respectfully joins palms, touching the ground with head and face. Greatly favored by your guidance, accepting me and leading me back to the right path. The evil thoughts of the past are all cut off today. Realizing that one's own True Nature is the same as the Buddha's.

The Transformation Buddha bestows prediction upon Luojì (螺髻), without doubt. Realizing the fruit of enlightenment, one knows the warmth and cold for oneself. The entire assembly together receives the prediction of Bodhi. Our Buddha is compassionate, even demons can obtain benefit.

The Vajra declares, Bodhisattva Luojì (Luojì Púsà) listen. May the secret chapters spread until the stage of non-retrogression. The assembly listening to the Dharma stands to the right of the Divine King. Reporting, Great Sage, only today do we see your traces.

白言如來示寂滅。左化神王頂光如來出。我佛說咒力士談經義。守護流佈不敢違佛敕。

螺髻發願如來印證知。末法眾生天魔外道欺。分身遍滿百億閻浮提。掃除妖精眾生無災滯。

時大神王說是經咒已。八臂器仗頂光如來泯。紫金光聚漸漸近金軀。光明身相盡入如來體。

明空寂樂妙有真空虛。迦葉離佛雞足山中住。觀行顛倒徒弟晨朝議。必是如來早晚入滅去(繫縛歸空寂示現舍利)。

付㲲千疋纏裹善逝體。金棺銀槨自然空中起。拘尸羅城四門都游履。頭陀執薪三昧火自起。

八萬四千分身真舍利。俵散情界寶塔從此起。天上龍宮先分二停去。彌勒出世迦葉焚身體。

信受奉行依經流通頌。諸佛慈愍赦我差錯過。誓願四生同證唯心座。真實無語八識蓮宮理。

【English Translation】 English version: The Tathagata of White Speech manifests Nirvana. From the left, the Transformation King, the Crown Light Tathagata, emerges. Our Buddha speaks the mantra, and the Vajra Warrior discusses the sutra's meaning, guarding and propagating it, daring not to disobey the Buddha's command.

The Ushnisha (hair whorl) King makes a vow, and the Tathagata confirms and knows it. In the Dharma-ending Age, sentient beings will be deceived by demons and heretics. Emanations fill a hundred billion Jambudvipas (Jambudvipa, referring to the world we live in). Sweeping away demons, sentient beings will have no calamities lingering.

At this time, after the Great Divine King finished speaking this sutra and mantra, the Crown Light Tathagata with eight arms holding weapons disappears. The purple-golden light gathers and gradually approaches the golden body. The luminous form completely enters the Tathagata's body.

Clear emptiness, serene joy, wonderful existence, true emptiness, and void. Kasyapa (Kasyapa, one of the ten great disciples of Sakyamuni Buddha, known for his ascetic practices) leaves the Buddha and dwells in Kukkutapada Mountain. Disciples with inverted views discuss in the morning, surely the Tathagata will enter Nirvana sooner or later (bound to return to emptiness, manifesting relics).

Wrap the Sugata's (Sugata, one of the titles of the Tathagata, meaning 'one who has gone well') body with a thousand pieces of felt. A golden coffin and a silver outer coffin naturally rise from the air. They travel through all four gates of Kusinagar (Kusinagar, the place where the Buddha entered Nirvana). The ascetic holding firewood, the Samadhi fire arises naturally.

Eighty-four thousand emanations transform into true relics. Distribute them to sentient beings, and pagodas are built from then on. The heavenly dragon palace first takes two portions. When Maitreya (Maitreya, the future Buddha) appears in the world, Kasyapa burns his body.

Believe, accept, and practice, circulate and chant according to the sutra. May all Buddhas have compassion and forgive my mistakes. Vow that the four types of birth (womb-born, egg-born, moisture-born, and transformation-born) together realize the seat of Mind-Only. True and without words, the principle of the eight consciousnesses (eye consciousness, ear consciousness, nose consciousness, tongue consciousness, body consciousness, mind consciousness, Manas consciousness, Alaya consciousness) in the lotus palace.

Only after many lifetimes of karmic obstacles do you encounter good medicine. Fortunate in this life, saving you from having no news. Deluded sentient beings, self-reflect and seek liberation. The fundamental perfect clarity, that is where constant freedom is.

The merit of reciting the Buddha's name benefits and saves within the Dharma realm. Sentient and insentient realms, countless types in the ten directions. Hearing the Buddha's voice, the three evil realms (hell, hungry ghosts, animals) are immediately cut off. Each please take responsibility, originally it is you.
