敬白。一切往生知識等大須慚愧。釋迦如來實是慈悲父母。種種方便發起我等無上信心。又說種種方便教門非一。但為我等倒見凡夫。若能依教修行者。則門門見佛得生凈土。若見聞有人行善者。即以善助之。若見聞有人行教贊之。若聞人說行。即依行順之。若聞人有悟。即依悟喜之。何意然者。同以諸佛為師。以法為母生養。共同情親非外。不得輕毀他有緣之教行。贊自有緣之要法。即是自相破壞諸佛法眼。法眼既滅。菩提正道履足無由。凈土之門何能得入。傷嘆曰。生盲信業走。隨業墮深坑。縱此貪瞋火。自損損他人。長沒無明海。遇木永無緣。行者等必須於一切凡聖境上。常起贊順之心。莫生是非慊恨也。何故然者。為自防身口意業。恐不善業起。復是流轉。與前無異。若自他境上護得三業。能令清凈者。即是生佛國之正因。問曰。既道三業清凈是生凈土即因者。云何作業得名清凈。答曰。一切不善之法。自他身口意總斷不行。是名清凈。又自他身口意相應善即起上上隨喜心。如諸佛菩薩所作隨喜。我亦如是隨喜。以此善根回

【English Translation】 English version Respectfully I inform all good advisors who aspire to be reborn in the Pure Land, we should feel deeply ashamed. Shakyamuni Tathagata is truly a compassionate parent, using various skillful means to inspire our supreme faith. He has also taught various expedient teachings, not just one, but for us deluded ordinary beings. If we can practice according to the teachings, then through any Dharma gate we can see the Buddha and be reborn in the Pure Land. If we see or hear someone doing good deeds, we should help them with good deeds; if we see or hear someone practicing the Dharma, we should praise them; if we hear someone talking about practice, we should follow their practice; if we hear someone having an enlightenment, we should rejoice in their enlightenment. Why do we say this? Because we all take the Buddhas as our teachers, and the Dharma as our mother to nurture us, we are as close as siblings, not outsiders. We must not despise or slander the teachings and practices that others have affinity with, while praising the important Dharma gates that we have affinity with, this is equivalent to destroying the Dharma eyes of all Buddhas. Once the Dharma eyes are extinguished, there is no way to set foot on the path of Bodhi, how can we enter the gate of the Pure Land? It is sad and lamentable: a person born blind believes in karma and runs around, falling into a deep pit following karma. Indulging in the flames of greed and hatred, harming oneself and harming others. Forever sinking in the ocean of ignorance, even if encountering a plank of wood, there is no chance of escape. Practitioners must always generate a mind of praise and compliance in all realms of ordinary beings and sages, and do not generate right and wrong and dissatisfaction. Why is this so? In order to protect our own three karmas of body, speech, and mind, fearing that unwholesome karma will arise, and it will be the same cycle of transmigration as before. If we protect the three karmas well in our own and others' realms, and can purify the three karmas, that is the true cause of being reborn in the Buddha's land. Someone asks: Since it is said that the purification of the three karmas is the cause of being reborn in the Pure Land, then what kind of action can be called pure? The answer is: all unwholesome dharmas, we do not do them with our own and others' body, speech, and mind, this is called purity. Also, wholesome actions corresponding to our own and others' body, speech, and mind will arise, and we generate the supreme joy. 【English Translation】 English version: Because of being born in the Pure Land, this is called the primary cause. Furthermore, if one wishes to be born in the Pure Land, one must encourage oneself and others to widely praise the adornments of the Land's environment and the rewards of proper conduct. One must also know the origins of entering the Pure Land and the beginning and end of leaving the Saha world (娑婆世界). All wise individuals should know this. Someone asks: 'What is the meaning of 'Pratyutpanna Samadhi Joy (般舟三昧樂)'?' The answer is: 'In Sanskrit, it is called Pratyutpanna (般舟), which is translated here as 'constant practice path,' or seven days, ninety days of uninterrupted physical practice, collectively called the uninterrupted three karmas, hence the name Pratyutpanna.' Furthermore, 'Samadhi (三昧)' is also a word from the Western lands, translated here as 'concentration.' Because of the uninterrupted three karmas mentioned earlier, the mind is sincerely moved, and the realm of the Buddha appears before one's eyes. Greed and hatred are the karmic causes of Samsara (Vow to be Reborn), Are afflictions not the cause of non-birth (Immeasurable Joy)? Verify the suffering of greed and hatred burning like fire (Vow to be Reborn), Better to hasten rebirth in Amitabha's Land (Immeasurable Joy). When Amitabha (Amitabha) generated the Bodhi mind in his causal stage (Vow to be Reborn), He immediately abandoned his kingship to seek Bodhi (Enlightenment) (Immeasurable Joy). He shaved his head and beard at Rao Wang Buddha's (Rao Wang Buddha) place (Vow to be Reborn), Renounced the world to cultivate the Way, named Dharmakara (Dharmakara) (Immeasurable Joy). The forty-eight vows were thus made (Vow to be Reborn), Each vow is for the sake of all beings (Immeasurable Joy). I vow to follow the Buddha's teachings and strive to cultivate (unlimited joy). At all times, in every thought, practice the Six Perfections (vow to be reborn). With loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity, transform all sentient beings (unlimited joy). With body, speech, and mind, cultivate diligently without interruption (vow to be reborn). I vow to become the supreme and unsurpassed one on the path to Bodhi (enlightenment) (unlimited joy). Attain the unsurpassed fruit of Bodhi (vow to be reborn). Manifest hundreds of billions of transformation bodies to liberate all sentient beings (unlimited joy). Expound the Dharma with one sound, enabling sentient beings to awaken according to their individual capacities (vow to be reborn). Allowing each of them to return to their true nature according to their own understanding (unlimited joy). The Pratyutpanna-samadhi (般舟三昧) brings endless joy (vow to be reborn). I am willing to follow the teachings of Sakyamuni Buddha (釋迦如來) (unlimited joy). The Buddha's teachings have eighty-four thousand methods (vow to be reborn). It takes countless kalpas of ascetic practice to attain non-birth (無生) (unlimited joy). Take a lifetime as the limit and concentrate on reciting the Buddha's name (vow to be reborn). Once life ends, the Buddha will personally come to greet you (unlimited joy). Even for the time of just one meal, there are still interruptions (vow to be reborn). How can one expect not to generate greed and hatred in countless kalpas (unlimited joy)? Greed and hatred obstruct the path to the good realms of humans and devas (gods) (vow to be reborn). Forcing us to settle in the three evil paths and four evil realms (unlimited joy). If you want to reach the Land of Bliss of Amitabha Buddha (阿彌陀佛) (vow to be reborn). The merits accumulated from reciting the Buddha's name, upholding precepts, and cultivating must be dedicated (vow to be reborn). Diligence in precepts and practice will be praised by all Buddhas (vow to be reborn). At the time of death, a lotus throne will naturally come to greet you (unlimited joy). In a single thought, one can enter the Buddha's assembly (vow to be reborn). Forever removing one's name from the Three Realms and Six Paths (unlimited joy). 【English Translation】 English version A hundred thousand samadhis (samadhi, a state of mental concentration) are naturally accomplished (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), immeasurable joy. At all times, one is constantly in meditation (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), and through meditation and hearing the scriptures, one can attain enlightenment (immeasurable joy). Various precious ornaments appear according to one's thoughts (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), offering long-term offerings to repay the Buddha's compassionate grace (immeasurable joy). Past bad karma, as fine as dust, disappears with the growth of wisdom (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), unknowingly entering the gate of Suchness (immeasurable joy). Great and small asamkhyas (asamkhya, an extremely large numerical unit), kalpas (kalpa, a unit of time) like the sands of the Ganges River (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), are as brief as a snap of the fingers (immeasurable joy). In such a carefree and joyful place (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), what else is there to crave that one would not seek rebirth (immeasurable joy)? Even if one enjoys the five desires (form, sound, smell, taste, touch) for a thousand years (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), it will only increase the causes and conditions for suffering in hell (immeasurable joy). Greed, hatred, and the ten evils (ten kinds of evil deeds) arise continuously (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), how can this be the cause of liberation and nirvana (nirvana, the highest state in Buddhism) (immeasurable joy)? Without fear of the three evil realms of hell, hungry ghosts, and animals, one creates various sins (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), destroying the Triple Gem of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and sinking forever (immeasurable joy). Being unfilial to parents and scolding relatives (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), settling in hell with no hope of escape (immeasurable joy). Fortunately encountering a virtuous friend who guides rebirth (Wishing to be reborn), able to hear the name of Amitabha (Amitabha) of the Pure Land (Immeasurable joy). Because of Amitabha's vow to come and meet (Wishing to be reborn), residing permanently in this country without returning (Immeasurable joy). Entering the forest with Dharma companions to admire (Wishing to be reborn), the radiance underfoot surpasses the sun and moon (Immeasurable joy). The assembly of Bodhisattvas is endless (Wishing to be reborn), each one's body light shines upon each other (Immeasurable joy). The newly reborn are transformed from lotuses, appearing in a purplish-golden color (Wishing to be reborn), without difference from the great assembly (Immeasurable joy). Or entering the precious pavilion, sitting among the assembly (Wishing to be reborn), all who see are filled with joy (Immeasurable joy). Either standing on the sand, or the water reaches the knees (Wishing to be reborn), or submerged to the waist and head, or suspended and gazing (Immeasurable joy). The Buddha and the holy assembly have golden bodies (Wishing to be reborn), their lights shine upon each other, and their hearts know each other (Boundless Joy). Their excellent features are dignified and without difference (Wishing to be reborn), all accomplished by the power of Amitabha's (Amitabha) vows (Boundless Joy). People fill the ground and the sky (Wishing to be reborn), and supernatural transformations are naturally known (Boundless Joy). Some transform into magnificent pavilions and precious cloud canopies (Wishing to be reborn), while transformed birds continuously play the Dharma sound (Boundless Joy). The Dharma sound revolves like gathering clouds (Wishing to be reborn), and the people and devas of that land immediately awaken upon hearing it (Boundless Joy). Even if it's a kalpa, many kalpas, or a long period of time (Wishing to be reborn), they only receive the joy of the Dharma, which is inconceivable (Boundless Joy). The Pratyutpanna Samadhi (Pratyutpanna Samadhi) is joyful (Wishing to be reborn), and the adorned gates of the Pure Land are fully open (Boundless Joy). Avalokiteśvara (Avalokiteśvara) Bodhisattva and Mahāsthāmaprāpta (Mahāsthāmaprāpta) Bodhisattva sit side by side on lotus seats (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), each one's adornment is like the Buddha's (immeasurable joy). The four jeweled banners and streamers are very similar (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), the jeweled nets and jeweled canopies are no different (immeasurable joy). In the Land of Bliss, many sages see each other from afar (wishing to be reborn), knowing they are fellow practitioners from other worlds (immeasurable joy). Each rises, holding flowers to welcome and make offerings (wishing to be reborn), then being guided directly into the assembly of Amitabha Buddha (immeasurable joy). Bodhisattvas from other worlds together prostrate to the Buddha (wishing to be reborn), holding flowers and circumambulating the Buddha hundreds and thousands of times (immeasurable joy). Some scatter fragrant flowers, playing celestial music (wishing to be reborn), and manifesting miraculous transformations, filling the void (immeasurable joy). Rays of light illuminate each other, making offerings to the Buddha (wishing to be reborn), praising the Land of Ultimate Bliss with one voice (immeasurable joy). Amitabha Buddha responds by displaying a change in his physical form (wishing to be reborn), his body's light shining throughout the ten directions (immeasurable joy). The colors of the divine light emitted are endless (wishing to be reborn), turning the light back to illuminate the assembly of Amitabha Buddha (immeasurable joy). Thorn bushes fill the three realms (Wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), mountains and rivers, high and low, are uneven (Boundless joy). The nature of sentient beings in water, land, and space (Wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), is full of ignorance and afflictions, like greed and hatred (Boundless joy). Moment after moment, greedily seeking wealth and sensual pleasures brings endless suffering (Wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), bound by the ropes of karma, desire, and delusion, beings are sent into the cycle of rebirth (Boundless joy). King Yama (the lord of death) sends messengers to arrest (Wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), the prison guards and ox-headed demons urge them on and on (Boundless joy). Fierce flames rise from all four sides simultaneously (Wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), blown by the winds of karma, falling into suffering (Boundless joy). The most intense flames are outside the four gates of hell (Wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), each gate separated by eighty-four thousand li (Boundless joy). Running faster than the wind, like an arrow shot (Vow to be reborn), in an instant they enter the sevenfold gate (Limitless Bliss).

The joy of the Pratyutpanna Samadhi (Vow to be reborn), wholeheartedly reciting the Buddha's name, cutting off greed and anger (Limitless Bliss). Entering within these sevenfold iron gates (Vow to be reborn), when and in what kalpa (aeon) can they return (Limitless Bliss)? Once the sinners enter, all the gates are closed (Vow to be reborn), each body fills the space without obstructing each other (Limitless Bliss). One lies for eighty thousand long kalpas (Vow to be reborn), all due to the karmic cause of destroying the Dharma (Limitless Bliss). Slandering the Three Jewels, destroying others' good deeds (Vow to be reborn), they also fall into the Avici (uninterrupted) Great Hell (Limitless Bliss). Making sins through jesting and play, they suffer for many kalpas (Vow to be reborn), not cherishing the Buddha's intention, but valuing human sentiments (Limitless Bliss). Be careful not to take it lightly and indulge the three karmas (of body, speech, and mind) (Vow to be reborn), the path of karma is clear and cannot be deceived (Limitless Bliss).

Speaking harshly, being two-tongued, being greedy, hateful, and arrogant (wishing to be reborn), one will revolve and suffer in the eighty thousand hells (boundless joy). Discussing the faults of others and the Three Jewels (wishing to be reborn), after death, falling into the hell of tongue-pulling (boundless joy). Universally exhorting sentient beings to guard the three karmas of body, speech, and mind (wishing to be reborn), walking, standing, sitting, and lying down, always reciting Amitabha Buddha (Mituo Fo) (boundless joy). At all times, remembering the suffering of hell (wishing to be reborn), arousing the supreme aspiration to be reborn in the Pure Land (boundless joy). Nothing surpasses reciting for one day to seven days (Immeasurable Joy), When life is about to end, the holy assembly will appear (Wishing for Rebirth). Immediately sit on a lotus platform, reaching the treasure-adorned land (Immeasurable Joy), There, with the countless Bodhisattvas like a pure ocean, realize the non-origination forbearance (Wishing for Rebirth). When placing the feet down, golden lotuses fill the entire world (Boundless Joy). Originally dwelling in other realms, whether walking or sitting (Wishing to be reborn), those who come into contact immediately awaken to the tolerance of non-origination (Boundless Joy). The Pratyutpanna Samadhi (Banzhou Sanmei) is joyful (vow to be reborn), take enlightenment as the deadline, do not have doubts (immeasurable bliss). If you are a true disciple of Shakyamuni Buddha (vow to be reborn), you should vow to follow the Buddha's teachings and be reborn in the Land of Ultimate Bliss (immeasurable bliss). Do not rashly believe the words of others (vow to be reborn), you should use appropriate methods to cure afflictions according to your own circumstances (immeasurable bliss). Once you encounter disaster and danger, you will feel the urgency yourself (vow to be reborn), even if it is a fellow practitioner or a layperson, they cannot save you from thousands of miles away (immeasurable bliss). Speaking of emptiness but filled with resentment in the heart (vow to be reborn), attachment to people and things is like a mountain (immeasurable bliss). Such people should not be approached (vow to be reborn), approaching them will cause long-term suffering in the cycle of rebirth (immeasurable bliss). Ordinary beings of the lowest level of the highest grade, etc. (vow to be reborn), completely committing the ten evils, without any remaining good deeds (immeasurable joy). Increasing ignorance, only seeking momentary pleasure (vow to be reborn), feeling envious and slandering when seeing others cultivate blessings (immeasurable joy). Such a foolish person is difficult to awaken (vow to be reborn), truly because of the strong karmic connection with evil teachers (immeasurable joy). Only knowing to covet the wine and lust before their eyes (vow to be reborn), unaware that hell is already registering their names (immeasurable joy). Once entering hell, they will suffer prolonged pain (vow to be reborn), only then remembering the good teachers in the human world (immeasurable joy). The sinner contracts a serious illness at the time of death (vow to be reborn), their consciousness becomes confused, and their mind is in disarray (immeasurable joy). The scenes of hell appear one after another before their eyes (vow to be reborn), cold sweat flows, and their hands grasp at empty air (immeasurable joy). In such distress, who can save them (vow to be reborn)? Only the kindness of the good teacher and Amitabha Buddha (Amitabha Buddha) (immeasurable joy). Holding an incense burner, teaching them to repent (vow to be reborn), teaching them to join their palms and recite Amitabha Buddha (Amitabha Buddha) (immeasurable joy). One recitation of the Buddha's name eliminates all suffering (vow to be reborn), able to eliminate the sins of five million kalpas (immeasurable joy). The manifested Buddha and Bodhisattvas arrive following the sound (vow to be reborn), saying, 'I have specially come with a lotus flower to welcome you (vow to be reborn).' The practitioner sees the Buddha's light and rejoices (vow to be reborn), immediately sitting upon a seven-jeweled lotus flower (immeasurable joy). After forty-nine days, the lotus flower blooms, and they see the Buddha (vow to be reborn), Avalokitesvara (Avalokitesvara) and Mahasthamaprapta (Mahasthamaprapta) illuminate them with compassionate light (vow to be reborn). Their eyes are clear, and their mind is enlightened (vow to be reborn), joining their palms and beginning to generate the Bodhi (Bodhi) mind (immeasurable joy).

般舟三昧(Pratyutpanna-samadhi)之樂(愿往生),即使粉身碎骨也難以報答釋迦牟尼佛(Sakyamuni)的恩德(無量樂)。 下品下生的凡夫俗子們(愿往生),犯下十惡(ten non-virtuous acts)、五逆(five rebellious acts)的罪行(無量樂)。 這樣的愚人造下許多罪業(愿往生),要經歷地獄無盡的劫數(無量樂)。 臨終之時忽然遇到善知識(愿往生),為他說微妙的佛法,令他心安(無量樂)。 臨死時刀風解體,貪戀世間忍受痛苦(愿往生),教他念佛卻念不出來(無量樂)。 善友告訴他專心合掌(愿往生),以正念專心稱念阿彌陀佛(無量壽)(Amitayus)(無量樂)。 一聲聲連續不斷地念滿十聲(愿往生),每一聲都消除五逆的罪障(無量樂)。 誹謗佛法的一闡提(Icchantika),行持十惡(愿往生),回心轉意唸佛,所有罪業都能消除(無量樂)。 病人身心覺醒明白(愿往生),眼前立刻出現

【English Translation】 English version If not for the wise teacher instructing to recite the Buddha's name (Vow to be reborn), how could one enter the land of Amitabha (Immeasurable Joy)? Ordinary beings of the Lower Grade of Middle Birth (Vow to be reborn), who break precepts, steal from the Sangha, and commit various sins (Immeasurable Joy). Preaching the Dharma with improper means, without shame (Vow to be reborn), breaking precepts, the consequences will fall upon those who beat and scold teachers and monks (Immeasurable Joy). Such a foolish person, on the day of their death (Vow to be reborn), feels pain in every joint, as if pierced by awls and knives (Immeasurable Joy). The fierce fires of hell all come to逼迫 (Vow to be reborn), at that time, they encounter a Kalyanamitra (Immeasurable Joy). The Kalyanamitra generates great compassion, teaching them to recite the Buddha's name (Vow to be reborn), and the fierce fires of hell immediately turn cool (Immeasurable Joy). Heavenly flowers spin and fall with the wind (Vow to be reborn), and manifested Buddhas and Bodhisattvas ride upon lotuses (Immeasurable Joy). The practitioner immediately sits upon the heavenly flower (Vow to be reborn), and follows the Buddha into the jeweled pond in an instant (Immeasurable Joy). Due to heavy karmic obstacles, it takes six kalpas for the lotus to bloom (Vow to be reborn), and when the lotus blooms, the Bodhi mind is awakened (Immeasurable Joy).

The joy of Pratyutpanna-samadhi (Vow to be reborn), even shattering the body into pieces cannot repay the kindness of Sakyamuni Buddha (Immeasurable Joy). Ordinary beings of the Lower Grade of Lower Birth (Vow to be reborn), who commit the ten non-virtuous acts and the five rebellious acts (Immeasurable Joy). Such a foolish person creates much sin (Vow to be reborn), and must experience endless kalpas in hell (Immeasurable Joy). At the moment of death, they suddenly encounter a Kalyanamitra (Vow to be reborn), who speaks the wonderful Dharma to bring them peace (Immeasurable Joy). When the winds of death dismember the body, they cling to the world and endure pain (Vow to be reborn), and when taught to recite the Buddha's name, they cannot do so (Immeasurable Joy). The good friend tells them to single-mindedly join their palms (Vow to be reborn), and with right mindfulness, wholeheartedly recite Amitayus (Immeasurable Joy). Reciting continuously, filling ten recitations (Vow to be reborn), each recitation eliminates the obstacles of the five rebellious acts (Immeasurable Joy). An Icchantika who slanders the Dharma and practices the ten non-virtuous acts (Vow to be reborn), if they turn their mind and recite the Buddha's name, all sins will be eliminated (Immeasurable Joy). Riding the lotus, in a single thought, one arrives at the Buddha-land (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), directly entering the great assembly, reaching the lotus pond before the Buddha (immeasurable joy). If residual karma remains unexhausted, one remains enclosed within the lotus (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), only after twelve kalpas does the lotus bloom (immeasurable joy). Sitting within the lotus, there is no subtle suffering (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), surpassing the joy of the Third Dhyana Heaven of the Realm of Form (immeasurable joy). The Samadhi of Pratyutpanna brings joy (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), strive to enter hell and sit upon a golden lotus (immeasurable joy). Rather abide in the golden lotus for hundreds of thousands of kalpas (wishing to be reborn in the Pure Land), than remain in hell for even a moment (immeasurable joy). 同時而有心識。若不與空界同時有者。一切眾生即是無因而始出也。心識若無本因有者。即事同木石。若同木石者。則無六道之因業也。因業若無者。凡聖苦樂因果誰覺誰知也。以斯道理推勘者。一切眾生定有心識也。若有心識。即與空際同時有有。若與空際同時有者。即唯佛與佛得知本元也。行者等知自身心。與空際同時有。乃至今身今日。不能斷惡除貪。一切煩惱唯覺增多。又使釋迦諸佛同勸。專念彌陀。想觀極樂。盡此一身。命斷即生安樂國也。豈非長時大益。行者等努力努力勤而行之。常懷慚愧仰謝佛恩。應知。
